Posted at 12/8/2022 14:56 by andydaf Good update does not seem to have moved the share price much but lets see when the interims are released and with a bit of luck increased dividend. My Nedbank shares have done well from the unbundling and are yielding circa 8%.Lets hope South Africa can make some progress this year.GLA |
Posted at 24/11/2021 21:59 by whatja Now the unbundling is done we can focus on the OMU business. The recent trading update was mixed and the market reaction has been negative. I am hoping the pandemic will ease with hotter weather but I e pect there will be more provisions and loan write downs to come. Waiting for the FY results in March before buying back in. |
Posted at 04/11/2021 17:43 by whatja The London share price has behaved rather oddly this week.It fell a lot ahead of the unbundling date and then only fell by about half the value of the NED shares….so yesterday was the bargain day when you could get Ned at half price. Sp is today back in line with the Joburg price around 68p. That is 16p below recent highs which included 11p of ned. Probably about fair given recent price..but this is all about recovery in Southern Africa….my SA contacts don’t give a confident outlook, so this is possibly a good time to buy before a recovery sets in. |
Posted at 04/11/2021 14:01 by turbocharge At what price does the new OMU become an attractive proposition? |
Posted at 26/10/2021 13:29 by whatja 3 Nov is the last day to buy/hold for the unbundling.4 Nov is buy back OMU without 10-11p per share of NEDBANK. |
Posted at 07/4/2021 10:32 by whatja Now appears to be a decent time to add new money to OMU.Of course it all depends on the prospects of a bounce back in South Africa. The last results were pretty dire, but barely moved the share price which has started to move upwards again.... Some momentum will bring 70p...hoping for 80p later this year. |
Posted at 15/4/2019 11:56 by foxy22 YesTginking of selling nedbank share allocationDo u still have this allocation |
Posted at 15/10/2018 18:54 by goldry I've been trying to understand the position and this is my understanding. The Nedbank share distribution happened today based on about 3.21 Nedbank Shares per 100 OMU share. The fractional number of shares were sold off as a job lot today and all OMU shareholders will receive the proceeds based on the notice from 11th October with details of price and exchange rate. That should be in accounts this week(?).Anyone with a holding of less than 100 Nedbank Shares will have their shares bought back at mid market rates during the first few days of December + 5%. This happens on 3rd December subject to shareholder approval. You have to elect to keep the shares if you want them and your holding is less than 100. |
Posted at 11/10/2018 10:51 by azioni2 My understanding is that OMU have gone ex-Nedbank today. So if one buys OMU shares today he/she will not be entitled to the new shares. Monday 15th October is when the shares in Nedbank will be allocated |
Posted at 10/10/2018 12:39 by azioni2 Following the distribution, OML will be a smaller company in terms of the underlying assets owned by the OML Group. Therefore the OML share price is expected to be impacted by the Unbundling in a similar way to any normal dividend distribution. After the record date, the value of the OML share price is expected to decrease by the same amount as the value of the Nedbank distribution. The actual impact seen could be different due to the impact of equity markets, economic environment and any re-rating which could occur. |
