I agree when the news comes through that funding is in place, we should see some possitive moves forward and it gives people a nice entry price.
Good luck to all.

Today's RNS (23/5) 'exploring funding' until development loan stage sounds ominously like an equity issue, hence share price fall. But once the funding is in place we may power ahead as the greatest risk is the finance rather than the development now that full pp has been given.

ghbg Another bit of good news here, thanks for that, it might help to keep a healthy possitive interest going. Good luck to all

If you ignore the journalistic headline and read the details, it looks like it's just at the 'tentative enquiry' stage. I guess Oak won't issue a note unless CDC accepts the invitation.

Announcement today re CDC (whoever they are and whatever they do I don't know) - surprisingly announcement not made by Oak though

are out. A couple of references to the 'independent opinion of value', implying that its been completed ('Directors' confidence in YES! Project underpinned by independent 'Opinion of Value'), but no hard figures, implying that they didn't get the answer they were hoping for (Net assets remain largely unchanged at £10.09m .... £10.5 million currently attributed to the YES! Project. In this respect, the Board is relying on their own experience supported by an indicative 'Opinion of Value' commissioned from independent property advisers.).

Very unstable at the moment - every trade seems to be moving the price.

This is what we have been waiting for, apart from the occasional dip, we should see a steady climb now, as news should be trickling in as new people show an interest in taking premises.
Good luck to all.

Skanska are no longer involved and have been replaced by Laing O'Rourke - I asked the question of Oak.

Released today, Oak Holdings plc ('Oak' or the 'Company'), the AIM listed company behind the £350 million YES! Project, announces that it has reached a further milestone in the project, signing a partnership agreement with Laing O'Rourke,

Now I'm confused, where does Skanska fit into this deal?

ghbg Thanks for the links, they are very interesting, the second one has a nice artists impression of what it will look like, which is really good.
I think this will be a winner given time. good luck to all

That second article has the first reference linking the Yes Project to the 2012 Olympics, all-be-it only as a training facility for the UK (that should also please Londoners - it will be one less thing they're going to have to pay for). It also gives the management an incentive to extra-digitate - this project has, after all, been dragging on for far too many years already.

Rother Valley Country Park in Rotherham will feature in the London Organising Committee Pre-Games Training Camp Guide. A number of South Yorkshire sites will feature in the guide aiming to attract athletes to the region in the build up to the 2012 Olympics.

Seems a bit of a dramatic fall for such a pathetic sale amount (both shares and monetary). There wasn't a huge spike for the 17,500 trade last week.

Anyway another article from 29th February 2008 from BT which may be of interest

There's lots in there that we knew already - however if you read through to the end you can see that they're upbeat about it.

With this major milestone (Development Agreement being signed) now behind it we expect to see more news flow from Oak in the coming months. Continued news flow which clearly demonstrates that this long term project is moving forward can only be beneficial to the company's share price performance.

So will we get an RNS on Tuesday regarding the £750,000?

There's no date on this, but it gives a , the first I've seen -

And a showing job creation in the area - last entry is the middle of last year, however its also got lots of links to newspaper articles referencing Yes! - Though dated as I said.

The company has an MOU with RBS. The project was valued at circa £10m in 2003. It is, in my opinion, likely to be worth more now. The next step will be for anchor tenants for the hotels and one would hope that we will hear about this soon. I think the Steelers was a bonus for the YES project - I don't recall any mention of an Ice hockey arena before.

I too have held shares for some time (a reasonably large amount as well). The directors - of whom the majority are very substantial shareholders - seem to have confidence so I have to rely on that.

At least they must be looking beyond the year end with confidence - I see the CEO is booked into deliver a case study to a construction conference on 28 May 2008.

I am also a long holder, I want to hear from the company the result of the report they commissioned 6 months ago as to the value of the yes project which they were sure would be greater than the value that the stock market has given.
I would have expected a response by now, if it was good news. I hope they will not be waiting until end April when the financial figures for the year can be expected.

I think they know they have buyers waiting and if they shake the tree, enough shares will be available and they will have created a market to make their money on the spread.
A couple of years ago I had a market maker on my boat as a charter guest, I had a great week with him and he told me lots of MM tricks, he said that he only worked with 2 shares and when things went quiet and he was sat bored he would create interest in a stock by shaking the tree and lots of small investers would panic and sell, this could bring out bigger holders to also sell, the price would drop and as the price became attractive again, people would buy. His advise to me was, if there has been no bad news or any news and there has been no movement in the share price for quite some time, then it is almost certainly a tree shake created my an MM and you will get a better price to add to your holding, but advised me not to sell.
That advice was the best I have ever had and stopped me losing money by helping me control the fear element of trading.
I do not want anyone to take this as advice, just perhaps something to think about. In my opinion there was no reason for the price to drop today, there were no big sells of profit takers and no news, good or bad, and in fact we here are all so much more possitive about this share than ever.
So I am not in the least worried. Good luck to all
