UK Comml Property Values Return To Growth After 26 Months -IPD





LONDON -(Dow Jones)- The U.K. commercial property market returned to capital growth in August, for the first time after 26 months of consecutive declines in property values, the Investment Property Databank said Monday.

U.K. monthly commercial property capital growth registered a 0.2% rise in August, said IPD.

The consecutive 25-month peak-to-trough capital decline resulted in values falling 44.2% since their peak in June 2007.

Since the shock of Lehman's collapse commercial property has delivered record losses, but has at least traced a relatively stable path towards this first tiny sign of recovery, said co-founding director at IPD, Ian Cullen.

At a sector level, industrial property capital values rose 0.26% in August, compared with a 0.24% fall in July, while retail property increased 0.37%.

been a bit of selling today so good to see the price remaining firm (at the mo). dont think we'll get to 14p unless we get that refinancing news
