As you rightly point out, NTOG has had a $25m senior debt facility with Texas bank for a year or two now. It's reserve-based lending, i.e. mortgaged on their production/reserves if you would.

NTOG have kept that debt in good standing, and haven't had to re-negotiate it or change it (unlike many other small oilers), which is testimony to the financial control at NTOG.

However ... they've not really been able to use that debt facility because their production isn't hedged, and so it's too risky.

Now that BP are providing this hedging facility that then separately unlocks access to use this $25m reserve based lending.

Yes BP and the debt facility are formally two separate things BUT the presence of one unlocks the other.

Now if NTOG decided to draw down (say) $5-10m of that debt, imagine what they could do with that in the current climate.

This has changed NTOG from a company treading water in the current oil climate to one with significant leverage/debt based working capital to go out there and do something (acquisitions). It's now gone from a Steady Eddie Mr 10% Returns sort of producing oil play to one with much more of a "hero or zero" aggressive growth potential.

Whatever happens the next few months look to be VERY exciting from a news flow and company perspective. With that sort of leverage one of two things will happen. Either NTOG will blow the lights out and we grow very very fast, or else it explodes in our faces. High risk high return.

Whatever happens, NTOG has just turned a MASSIVE corner and now needs a very close eye kept on it.
