I'm up +0.158% on the day today (FTSE100 -0.343%).

Best rises: UU. +1.4%, BP. +1.3% then ULVR and VOD, both +1.1%.

Worst falls: TSCO -1.7%, S32 -1.4% and MKS -1.0%.

A good turnround from yesterday for me, and I am now ahead of the market YTD. I am also at an all-time high valuation. Results tomorrow from LLOY and INDV. It would be nice if INDV resumed paying dividends. Not really clear why they stopped after paying two.

Funeral this afternoon of a chap who was in Round Table when I transferred in, almost 50 years ago. He was approaching 87 and had an interesting life. His final home was in our village, and we met on our respective walks now and then. He was an estate agent and valuer, well thought of locally, and a past master of the Cordwainers Company. A pleasant bun fight afterwards.

+9°C this morning, +12°C this afternoon, but no rain appeared. Had my fasting blood test this morning. Took dracula two goes to draw blood.

+0.3%.

Hazy subshine this morning. Grey afternoon leading to drizzle now. 11.9C after 5.4C.

i didn't feel up to gym so went for a gentle bike ride this morning to try clear my chest. (Still coughing horrendously this afternoon.) Lots of snowdrops on one country lane culminated in a churchyard that was a lovely sea of white. There were plenty of unfamiliar short yellow flowers in clusters along a cycle path which apparently joins up with the national network and runs near a river marina;s cafe. That will be nice in summer. Despite no crocuses and daffs out yet, it was very cheering.

Still a steady stream of profit misses/warnings flowing through in the US. Today we notably had Dillards, a couple of used car dealers and an auto parts company, amonsgt others. The US used and new car markets seem to be slowing as defaults on loans rise and interest rateson new loans rise to compensate.

Pleasantly surprised that my lot are holding up reasonably well today, helped by BP. & CTO. Tempted to top up on PETS after the recent falls.

According to our shed thermometer we only saw 15.2°C yesterday but it felt warmer than that. Only dropped to 10.2°C last night which felt about right. The sun is trying to poke through now, so lunch on board beckons!

Good Morning.

No that's not great for HSBC and it looks like it's pulling the other banks down with it. I just have LLOY & ALD but they are both down.

skinny - mghi/mghu/mghz/mghc

From reading the proposal - its just a roll over into JPM elect which ever you fancy, cash, or some m and g oeic's. £350k has been accounted for in the Nav for the cost of all shareholders rolling over.

Depends if you have tax implications really. If not, cash out and find something alot better than the garbage funds being offered as a roll over. The elect split captal trust allows tax planning as shareholders can move freely between the 3.

Looks like income shares will be around 55p.

Theres no gearing like mgh* in the elect option or oeic.
