btw lance corp.

ru into stuff like RSI ?

20 day RSI is over 90......indicating that very much in demand or possibly over bought..
while noting that something can be in demand...and stay in demand...

Gday pommie

If my memory is correct....around 11M from Asia and Auz.....and I think 80-95% is from Tasman..so around 1/3rd of total....contribution to profit is higher...since load bank turnover from UK is lower % profit whereas rental such as Tasman is higher %

my pt. was ...just to be aware that there are variables that affect NBI....
such as exchange rates
(if pnd is strong then load banks become more expensive and harder to sell outside of the UK...main market I think)

...the 36p target EPS for 2014 has not yet been booked in !
---

Asian , Auz and international growth is NBIs stated goal....
and short term the largest growth part of that.... in value... is considered to be Auz...

----

the run up in the share price ....hopefully indicates that the H1 results are good !
but imo it is now fully in the price...imo at 420p its not cheap

USA has high chance of a dip/fall imo....led by big blue perhaps...if it happened then would also upset the UK mkts.

G'day Smithie,

Interesting points. Do we know what percentage of business is reliant on the Aussie dollar? If it isn't too large it isn't a concern for me.

...and the share price still rises!

BTW
since you are on line now....
NBI could see 6% reduction in turnover in pounds due to current change in Auz dollar vs the pound...and similar effect imo on Auz profits..

if exchange rate is 1.65$ Auz to 1 GB pnd compared to rough average of 1.55 to 1 last year
( I guess that Auz $ has fallen in strength since mining sector and mineral prices has fallen back compared with 12 months ago...)

(not sure if the co. can do monthly return of profits to the UK.....to get an averaged exch. rate over a year....or just calculates on the last day of the accounting reporting period)

would also put up the price of any load banks if made in UK and sold from UK to Auz
---

only a secondary effect of course in Auz. ....main effect is the % hiring occupancy of equipt.

lance corporal term

"The presumed origin of the rank of lance corporal derives from an amalgamation of corporal with the now-archaic lancepesade, formerly a non-commissioned officer of the lowest rank. This in turn derives from the Italian lancia spezzata, which literally means "broken lance" or "broken spear", which was used to denote a seasoned soldier or mercenary, who was not a part of a "lance". "Lance" or "lances fournies" was a term used in Medieval Europe to denote a unit of soldiers (usually 5 to 10 men strong)."

the British Services section then gives more info...

...be interesting to see what the share price does now....

been a flurry of buyers...due to the RNS and due to the ISA changes...and little supply of stock (as always)

if it goes sideways till results at end of Sept.......will some people get bored and maybe move to what they think is faster moving...

BTW
what does Lance originally mean in Lance Corporal ?

the lance was to keep the squaddies in order....or to throw at the enemy ??!
or a bit of pig chasing in India ?

Afternoon Smithy et al.

share price looking solid again. I am hoping for a gradual rise into the results and then time for the market to decide if this is overcooked or NBI really is expanding as anticipated in which case I am expecting it to push on.

All the best and have a fantastic day all

Lance

Lance Corp.
I had a quick look at results....
you are right....H2 has been noticeably strong than H1 in all of past 3 years at least...I didnt look any more...

well Im hoping that this H1 will be as good as H2 was !

The large price rise from 320p to 415p indicates that the mkt is hoping the same !
and that H1 results should be good.....hopefully as good as the mkt expects !
...if not then the share price might not like it...

PS
no RNS was issued at the time to report that MWB were David Marshall was a director had gone into administration

and similar case before....at FIF where David Marshall was close imo a past chairman.....when that chairman sold shares.....there was no RNS to the market.....and only produced X months or maybe years later.

While NBI seems to comply fairly well with the regulations...and the spirit of the regulations

appears to me that David Marshall....non-exec. dir.
at the companies that he controls via family trust funds

blatantly rides repeatedly over the regulations and the spirit of the regulations

- opaque accounts
- high management costs as a % of assets and no breakdown or justification of costs
- hiring of family members without perhaps using a competing admin. process and selecting best candidate
- filling the board of directors with people that are related parties to himself or his family trust funds...or are effectively employees...

ie. appearance of blatantly hiring yes men who either work for the Marshalls or benefit from income from the Marshalls.....to minimise the risk of any opposition to David Marshalls control or any opposing opinions to those of the Marshalls

such as at London Finance. LFI....listed on main London market.

In 2013....a Marshall controlled company where David Marshall is the MD (Monteagle Marshall)...has appointed what is basically an employee of his (Mr Beale) to be the chairman of the same company.....

same person is also on the committees for Small Companies Alliance and Fin. Reporting processes

which imo puts those 2 organisations into the same cesspit of hipocresy....creating regulations and standards...and then committee members blatantly ignoring the rules.

----

If the reality is that the regulations mean nothing and the controlling party of a company can fill the bod with employees or people who financially benefit from income from the controlling party
then may as well be open and honest and throw the regulations in the bin ...rather than pretend that regulations exist.

is H2 really that much stronger normally than H1 ?
Ive never looked at that...
have you got a summary of the numbers ??

last year I think that was mostly due to some large rental contracts being delayed in starting...and I guess the equipment had to sit idle waiting till it did start...
----

a few sellers arrived to balance the buyers......thats healthy.....fairish volume today...
37k....say 18k bt and 18k sold...

flyfisher
so 32p then 36p EPS
imo it has a solid chance of being achieved...based on current status....

but have to recall that not gteed.....eg. H1 last year was poor
---

ISA move creating some demand....good point...

currently trading at 16?

Looks asif people are anticipating an increase in revenue.

lance corporal winstanley ash
06/8/2013
09:39
since last results were 24p

if hits 32p EPS then at 500p P/E would = 16
which historically is high for NBI

imo something has happened yesterday to trigger the recent buys incl. the 2 before the open today...

I would have expected the price to tread water till the results...and then decide depending on the results..

----

if price over cooks...then if falls since cant go up forever...and hits stop losses...down trend..not so good...

why would 500 be overvalued if turnover and profits are forecasted to increase?
lance corporal winstanley ash

I feel it's fully priced too but sometimes shares surprise. defo strength in share price. if it hit 500 then it would be silly overvalued and I would sell. holding for now though.
