I hope your not a client of JN Financial !
...their advertising states that the more profit a client makes....the more they take !!

(Im sure new clients must be flooding in....not...)

I thought that maybe the supporters club tandem had got a puncture or something !

125k....I wonder if that has been over all these small trades that have taken place.....I guess that at 3.6-3.7 that they have bt around 1/2M squids worth then....fair lump...

can I be nosey ...was it you that had a CFD position long ? u still holding that same one ?!
or did you take profits earlier on ?

I wonder what the value of the NBI oil/gas services would be as a takeover target for Interserve, Kentz or other co. in the oil or gas services sector. Higher than currently valued in the share price imo.

smithie,

thanks these 2 posts re WESP,
you've got me interested in this company as a long term way into a "growth investment trust" at a good discount, even at 52p.
age of the directors is a concern, what are the long term plans? exit strategy?

i'm trying to put together a portfolio for inheritance tax exclusion purposes.
NBI qualifies, but WESP will not. Any ideas on this subject or BB you can direct me too

thanks

Western cap. value now 8.64M...if value at price to sell
while it holds approx. 7M in NBI

and has assets of around 16M (18M shares NAV around 90p/share at present)

if counted NBI shares as solid....then for the remaining 1.64M you get 9M worth of assets. ie. 5X the cost

the discount of share price to NAV looks overdone to me...
(approx. 52p to buy....and 90/92p NAV)

(can buy around the mid price in my opinion....10per cent spread is too big imo....but if leave an order to be filled at 2.5p above the selling price....then the MM will probably fill your order if he has a sell request to fill...and no orders to buy at the full price, 10per cent above sell price
5per cent commission for crossing a trade is enough/OK imo))

BTW
anyone interested in NBI may want to take a look at Western Selection on ISDX market

about 80% of Western cap. value is NBI shares
and also has large chunk in Creston which currently looks to be in a solid uptrend
(Naked Trader has increased his holding)
and also has a chunk in blue chips and some unlisted items

Western price is 52-57p (while can probably buy at 54-55p if leave a 'take it or leave it' order) (recent trades have mostly all been inside the quoted prices)
while NAV is currently 92p according to my calcs. ..so quite a significant discount.....if NAV goes up a little then it will be half price....

almost half price while holding large amount of NAV in NBI and CRE and blue chips...and some SWL....looks to give a good risk/reward profile

(if you put all your money in just NBI or just CRE and they did well then you would make more than putting in Western, since it is less concentrated, ....but Western provides lower risk. If one Western share sees a fall the share price would fall a smaller % than if you had all your money in the share that falls.
Divi is probably around 1.7-1.8p....on 54-55p buying price...so a fair yield.

BTW great results from Ashtead today....
with underlying profit almost doubling...

good part of business is in USA....where NBI expanded sales to not so long ago I think.....

but Ashtead rating looks very expensive to me...
7p underlying EPS and share price not far off 700p !!

so...if NBI can perform in this fin. year (and report an EPS in the 30s versus I think approx. 28p adjusted last year) then there is room for its P/E to increase imo...

looks to have found support after the last peak....and slowly ratchetting up a little....+ve sign imo

next results should confirm that NBI is now in the 30-40p EPS bracket...after being under 30p for a few years ( reported EPS results over last 5 years were flattened out a lot over the years due to exceptional extras in the first part of those last 5 years....while the operating PBT was I think climbing almost all the time, I think with a dip around 2009)

and year on year it's getting bigger.....and adding capabilities...and operating cenres/bases

Me too. Sold out at 340p. It's had a good run, and I would certainly come back later at the sign of a pullback.

pretty non descript statement, i top sliced after director sales but still have a reasonable holding for an illquid small cap. Could be a good time to top up if it falls much further.

good point

and I think that NBI is one of the biggest "large load bank" mfrs in the world.....previously having bt. 2 UK mfrs....I guess there are not many mfrs in the world...limited market
