Brando69,

WTF, YOU ARE ALWAYS STARTING A SENTENCE IN LOWER CASE.

CLEARLY THE INSIGNIFICANT THINGS IN LIFE REALLY MATTER TO YOU.

WOULD HATE TO SIT AT YOUR TABLE IN CASE I CHOOSE THE WRONG KNIFE.

Wouldn't it be a wheeze if neither really wanted the company but only to arbitrage a good profit?

I'd agree that Damac need us (the non bidding shareholders) to provide any true form of leverage

without us it'll be arguments potentially and trips to the courts

damac's modus operandi is certainly a riddle wrapped in an enigma

it's certainly complicated!
interesting price moves today on back of almost no trading. I checked after breakfast and I was offered 98.55p per share, considered reducing my holding but didn't strike while iron was hot i.e. before the price moved downwards.

So what's that about? 98.55 is as high as we've gone recently isn't it? And willing buyers at 100p or 101p

of course one story talked of a bidding battle, which you would think positive for share price But the other said it was game over- in error one hopes..

possible but in my opinion they have more power/influence now whilst it is listed and spadille cant move forward than they would have if they let spadille take it private and then found spadille were not quite so keen to honour their commitments.

brando, they could do that and we'd still end up with only 96p.

strikes me that damac probably going to accept abu dhabi taking control, but are playing hard ball to ensure that once it delists, they get what they want out of it.

tee hee

exactly sit tight. It is no coincidence that damac hold just over 25% of the stock. Even if all other holders sold out at 96p spadille would still be short of the very significant threshold of 75% when they have much more flexibility..de-listing the company, bank lenders are normally willing at 75% to lend as they can obtain security over the company assets, ability to table special resolutions etc.

Tellarian,
I would say of course it was legal, remember the offer was 'recommended', whether it was foolish is another matter.

I also question whether Abu Dhabi's position is as secure as it seems. Klas Nilsson selling was crucial but was it legal in his position as chairman - does it open him to legal implications and action as it was obviously not in the best interests of the shareholders or the company/

Methinks it will be a while before the soprano is wheeled on.

Well what we can say is with the Company publishing the possible two offers last year, if DAMAC were interested in making a bid you would have thought they would have been able to give us details by now.
I think it is a blocking measure and DAMAC will succeed but may have to pay up. There again they may go over 50% and then wait, if DAMAC are facing financial difficulties as someone posted here, then they will want payment sooner than later.

I cannot believe that with these big trades there haven't been any RNSs from holders over 1% notifying of a change in their holding.
