Sudden drop with no apparent reason. |
Very pleased to see 1000 pence again, it took just under 3 months post the RI and shares at 645 pence with other additions around the time @850 pence to recover to pre RI prices..
A keep for life share this one IMO, does not matter what energy generating tools they come up with, it all needs connectivity and distribution, our infrastructure is the biggest barrier to entry for a competitor and the widest economic moat possible, a monopoly, enjoy the dividends, the CG is probably not going to be realised for a looong time.. :o) |
Further to the above post Motleyfool have been banging on about it over the last few days. Suet |
A lot of discussion about AI needing more and more electricity. There must be an etf exposed to this potential demand - anyone got any ideas? A sort of pct for electricity. Thanks Suet |
#Lippy4, even better IF you doubled down then too.. :o) |
well back to the value it was before they devalued the share by increasing the amount of shares on the market if you bought the new share allocation you will not have lost any thing.. |
Not seen the estimated increase in electricity demand for EV's and AI (reputed to be a huge eater of electricity)around 2030 but I guess someone has the spreadsheet for this. It seems (guess) that some 50% more electricity will be needed for these two; so generation and transmission capacity will need huge increase. Its either a great time for NG or its all marketing hype as the demand wont occur; either way as a crucial part of the energy system NG would seem well placed assuming the government don't mess things up. |
Well that's a 3 month high @1,007.50p |
Maybe it will hold this time. Starmer will have to double down on the energy thing, I think it is the only thing he may have control of. And I use the term lightly, all he needs to do is not interfere, the interconnects will happen an then he can claim a win. For everything else though, immigration, public sector costs, nhs, bending the knee to everyone and the unions, I am not sure Labour have any ideas except for taxation and borrowing... they are tared with that assumption for good reason I guess! Might mean the the likes of NG. and companies like RR.(SMR's) might do well out of this else he is not going to have many things to crow about. Actual energy companies may be in his scope for windfall taxes though. He needs to stay friendly with builders too I think else that one will be hitting him in the face like a wet fish also. |
At ten again |
Yep, nice to get the timing right, occasionally :) |
Me too! Bought 1300 at 989Bucking the trend again today |
Likewise gbh2, had money not sitting in an ISA that was burning a hole. |
Pick up a couple of K as share price dropped yesterday aft, my starter for 10 :) |
Icarus - it seems in terms of safety that NG is a safe place; if for no other reason that any company involved in pushing electrons around is, with the so called net zero, a safeplace, provided the financial issues are effectively managed. Of course being a de facto monopoly its also in a good place but the gremlin is the regulator but maybe its reasonable to assume the regulator is operating in the interests of the country? |
This is looking like a fairly safe place to have your money right now. Might buy a few more. I think it will rise quickly through 10.00 to 11.00. Best performer since I bought back in after the RI and Ex Divi date. |
The divi is being rebased on a per share basis, but the pot is being increased just as before. Sensible, since it takes time for the new cash to get turned into the tangible assets on which ng. makes a return. (even though the cash will make a positive return v inflation, which will just improve ng.'s finances a bit).
So basically, for those who took up all their rights, the divi payment stays the same, with the divi/share dropping in the ratio of old share count to new share count basis. |
Thank you :) |
Interim results in Nov with interim payment in Jan.
Rebased dividend to approx 45p for the year, due to new amount of shares in circ. I expect the interim to be based on 1/3 of total, so excluding CPIH increase, which is used to calculate divi increase for year, I expect interim to be around 15p ish |
I've been out for quite some time, is there any indication of dividend going forward? |
Will we see ten pounds again this week |
