04/10/2017 15:13 | Perhaps a little ominous that we've not had the rns confirming the date preliminary results will be released. Last year this announcement was released on the 20 Sept. That's two weeks ago now and the results came out on the 11 Oct. If results are ultimately delayed that's usually never a good sign. | boris cobaka
04/10/2017 14:00 | A good summary from Edison on 19 Sept that lays out what is known and what is conjecture: "A scan of newsflow in the display supply chain supports the case that Nanoco should be on track to receive follow-on orders in calendar H2. Nanoco has stated that its technology will be demonstrated in displays by a number of vendors at the forthcoming Touch Taiwan show. In particular, we believe there is a strong probability that Nanoco’s CFQDs will be used in high-end TVs being demonstrated by AUO, the world’s third largest display manufacturer. Press reports also indicate that Wah Hong, Nanoco’s film partner, expects to begin CFQD film shipments in Q4, albeit at modest levels. Nanoco’s press release states that its technology will be demonstrated in the displays of a number of major manufacturers at Touch Taiwan, the world’s largest display show. This is no surprise: Nanoco’s first orders, through Wah Hong, were announced in June and made specifically for this event. A scan of press releases from display manufacturers indicates that AUO (AUO.US), the world’s third largest, large-area (9”+) display manufacturer with 16.4% market share, is planning to demonstrate a number of high-end CFQD TVs at the show. Given Nanoco’s competitive lead in CFQD, we believe there is a strong possibility that these TVs will use Nanoco’s product. AUO is also planning to demonstrate a number of gaming-oriented QD computer displays and Innolux, the fourth largest large-area display manufacturer (15.7% market share), is demonstrating a number of QD televisions. It is not clear whether these devices are cadmium free or not, but if they are, we believe there is a good chance Nanoco would be the supplier. We would normally expect a number of the devices on display to reach production in time for the festive season. This view is given support by press reports from China/Taiwan, which indicate that WAH Hong is anticipating the first volume orders for its CFQD film in Q4, albeit at a modest level." 04/10/2017 10:58 | Edison updated their Investment Summary yesterday, slightly more upbeat. "The market opportunity is still significant and we believe Nanoco’s competitive position should ultimately support strong growth and margins, although visibility in the early revenue ramp is inevitably low". "Market analysts are forecasting strong uptake of QD TVs and cadmium-free is expected to dominate volumes. Market analysts’ forecasts for QD adoption in display vary, but at the mid-point, QD TV shipments are forecast to grow from c 5m in 2017 to nearly 50m by 2020, which we estimate equates to a market opportunity for QD materials of $550m by 2020". | nowenterprise
03/10/2017 21:13 | IMO AUO,Innolux,Biogen and Samsung are about to use CFQDs from Nanoco , DOW and Merck ;) | syd7777
03/10/2017 09:47 | syd / all ; please don't post statements of fact when they are not. They are our/your assumptions based on what we think we know | mr.oz
03/10/2017 08:38 | 'Please provide links to facts on your posts' - I expect all self-fulfilling, 'my Dad's bigger than your Dad' claims from the QMC propaganda machine in future will all contain just that? Cheers Crunch. | wjs81
03/10/2017 06:51 | Crunch as in my previous post I did mention keep us guessing.AOU was mentioned by Eddison and there are indications on the other BB from Eskers that Innolux is working with Nanoco.Certainly seems to be a number of people at Innolux who have Nanoco staff in the "people also viewed" section of their LinkedIn pages. hxxps://www.linkedin | syd7777
03/10/2017 03:48 | "AOU is being supplied by DOW and Innolux by Nanoco.Nanoco hasn’t got the capacity to supply the both." Syd..Please provide links to facts on your comments.Thanks...no fake news either please. | ih_169538
02/10/2017 23:49 | Most who post 'HTTP' in lower case have it turned to to hxxp by the system to prevent a direct link - just change one letter to a capital and it fools this - try it. There are lots of people waiting for the best gaming monitors in the world using the AUO QD panels (ACER and USUS being 2 of the monitor makers) they were expected Q2 2017, and there was a serious hold up, was it 3M stopping doing QD? As AUO were linked to 3M in 2015, and 3M no longer do QD film. The monitors are now expected Q1 2018 - but actually shipping and not just a demo at CES. | noccer

02/10/2017 21:04 | AOU is being supplied by DOW and Innolux by Nanoco.Nanoco hasn’t got the capacity to supply the both. There is no need to hide the US commercial orders for biotech and not name them, with the financial details,as it’s done and dusted. They are hanging on to the bad Y/E results before the upbeat comments going forward ;) Slippy where art thou. | syd7777
02/10/2017 20:42 | MEs words after the DOW non exclusive”We will be able to talk a a lot more now, about what we are doing”.The worlds two biggest OEMs Samsung and LG was announced through DOW although neither used them.NDA for the rest? Commercial Supply and License Agreement with a US corporation in the field of medical devices. No name or the important financial aspects were at hand for the markets to scrutinise. The June Order had no financial details or now got the markets to ascertain of further modest orders.Other then tweets and vague RNS the company needs to put out more, instead of hiding behind the curtains and stop keeping us all guessing. | syd7777

02/10/2017 09:48 | I think that's unlikely. The likes of AUO and Innolux make displays that go on to be fitted in branded products. The displays seen at Touch Taiwan were generic models, an example demonstrating here's what we're capable of. From here on, companies will look to integrate those screens, tweak them where they want, and package them in to items for sale, and my thoughts are, we're probably looking at another 10-12 months before they begin to appear on the market in any significant volume. Hence why we're looking at modest revenue for first two or three quarters of the next financial year, with it ramping strongly after that assuming sales go well. So I think the risks remain the same- will Nanoco have sufficient funds to last out until commercial sales provide them with sufficient income, and will QDLCD displays realize the projected volume of sales. | andycapped
01/10/2017 20:51 | Bag, the OEMs may be using CFQDs in their high end displays, but they may be shying away from highlighting that, since they may want to leave the door open to using Cad QDs in lower price displays in some markets. | tdots
01/10/2017 18:45 | I wonder if that might include QD's? hxxps://www.fool.com | andycapped
01/10/2017 15:19 | How many companies list all the suppliers of components in their products? However it would be nice if the companies gave Nanoco permission to publish details of where the dots are being used. It should come in time regardless. | andycapped
01/10/2017 11:03 | still find it odd that a firm was showcasing the "astonishing power" of CFQD without saying it was CFQD ..has to be Innolux and AUO though surely as no other OEM appears to have mentioned quantum dots at all... | bagpuss67
01/10/2017 10:59 | latest blog David Yao, Senior VP of Global Sales at Nanoco Technologies, recently presented at the Display Innovation Conference as part of Touch Taiwan 2017. Yao’s session, TV Technology: Next Steps in Quantum Dots, covered the increasingly important role cadmium-free quantum dots are playing in the display industry, as more leading global manufacturers embrace the high-quality, customizability, and safety of CFQDs®. Some of these manufacturers incorporated Nanoco’s CFQD® quantum dot Fine Color Film into state-of-the-art 4K UHD products demonstrations at the event to showcase to attendees the astonishing power of CFQD® technology. Yao shared his insights with conference attendees on picture quality and the pressure brands are facing to differentiate themselves in the market. The demand for Wide Color Gamut (WCG) displays is growing dramatically as the brilliant color quantum dots enables becomes the industry standard. OLED and QD technology have huge potential to dominate the WCG sector due to their ability to command a price premium. Yao’s presentation also highlighted CFQD® tuneable wavelengths, which can be customized to each brand’s requirements. Since many brands have their own color filter, the light's wavelength has to be adjusted to "fit in,” making tuneable wavelengths the perfect answer to an ongoing brand problem. A major point of discussion surrounding CFQDs® is their functional ability to maintain amazing color accuracy across devices; this means the color seen on televisions will be uniform across other devices such as monitors, tablets and phones. CFQDs® were also praised for their impressively fast response times, complementing high frame rate monitors used for gaming. This is in comparison to competing phosphor technology that has a slow decay time that leads to problems at high frame rates, including unwanted "glow" after the LEDs switch off. Touch Taiwan was the perfect showcase for the advancements quantum dot technology has made in the last year. As the leader in heavy-metal-free CFQD® products, Nanoco had the privilege of highlighting the value of this innovative technology is in the world of displays. The Nanoco team will continue to provide manufacturers with heavy-metal-free, sustainable quantum dot technology, thus giving these global leaders a competitive edge to keep consumers satisfied and safe | bagpuss67

29/9/2017 11:19 | The accounts last year were released 3 Nov. This years don't have to be delivered to Companies House until 30 April 2018. | minsky
29/9/2017 09:28 | I don't know whether it is a fund raising but I am always a little suspicious when the results in one year are delayed from the previous year even slightly. It suggests that the company still need to get one of its ducks in line before they are ready to report. It could of course be something rather more positive than a fund-raising. We will have to wait and see. | dumbo11 |
