24/8/2017 10:01 | The difficulty is there is no way to know what QD source Hisense, Phillips, TCL, or anyone else is using. I think it is clear that the TV suppliers do not reveal what components they use or where they source them from. They are the brand and why would they possibly agree to put "Wah Hong" inside on their product. Indeed they will doubtless buy the cheapest panel of a given type they can get and presumably if that means changing supplier at any point they are quite happy to do that, their view will be that the consumer does not need to know or care and they are not going to give any supplier any brand exposure to the end market. It is either QD or not - where the QDs come from is irrelevant and will never be officially revealed or declared. We also have no way of knowing what NDAs are enforced down the supply chain preventing any supplier publicly declaring who they are supplying. All makes it very difficult unless you have inside knowledge, and hence everyone can only watch and wait for Nanoco revenues to appear. Such revenues will be a lagging indicator only appearing many months after supply. | joepublic1
24/8/2017 09:17 | Some chunky sells being snuck thru on NEX. | boris cobaka
24/8/2017 09:14 | Ping! 30p taken out in one go, although all 'AT' trades. Volume defo on the up. Seller I suspect may be on the last tranche - things could get interesting today. Some chunky trades going thru... Better not be a rns leak. | boris cobaka
24/8/2017 08:48 | Bit of a big moment I think. They had the prototype in Jan. Did they choose Wah Hong film for this new ULED series 9 TV? The share price and current evidence says no... "Hisense prototype QD TV incorporates Nanoco technology Hisense state-of-the-art 4K television features the high qualities consumers expect of the Hisense brand, with sustainably-enhanced color performance made possible by Nanoco CFQD® quantum dot Fine Color Film™ made by Wah Hong. “Hisense is passionate about bringing the latest innovation in television technology to its global consumers,” said Edelman. “It’s a privilege to have our CFQD® fine color film identified by Hisense as a technology that can help this major global manufacturer continue to offer the market the very best television products.”" | bagpuss67
24/8/2017 08:42 | Was a Hisense demo at CES but no mentions around the release I can find of Cd free. Sadly I think they would be mentioning it if it was CFQD... | bagpuss67
24/8/2017 08:34 | hxxps://www.pcauthor Hisense has always been a choice on the radar of value seekers, but the company is pushing hard to get a foothold in the premium segment. Based on price alone, it certainly now occupies the high ground. It has just launched its 65-inch Series 8 ($4,999) and 75-inch Series 9 ($9,999) ULED TVs. They deliver the top-notch specs expected of a truly premium set, the most important ones being 4K and HDR. The HDR standard used is HDR10, which offers slightly less overall quality than the alternative Dolby Vision standard. LEG OLED sets support both standards, but having experienced both there is little to tell them apart is regular viewing. I spent a few hours with the Series 8 last week and was left impressed. I own an LG 4K OLED and was most interested to see how the new LCD Hisense stacks up. In terms of contrast, being the big strength of OLED, the Hisense Series 8 was very impressive. Watching a range of content it is as good as an LCD gets for creating deep blacks. Screen brightness was its greatest strength, and was far more vivid than the LG OLED, but without appearing garishly showroom floor bright. Above: Hisense Series 9 ULED Both new Hisense sets use quantum dots, which contributes a lot to screen brightness. These are good looking sets, too, the shiny metal base most definitely exudes a premium feel. So. Hisense has arrived at the high end of the market, and here, using LCD technology, it’s going head to head with Samsung now that Sony is playing hard against LG with very good OLED sets, and in my subjective experience there is little to choose between them. We haven’t done any true colorimeter testing, though, it should be noted. Above: Hisense Series 8 ULED With 4k content now in relative abundance on Netflix, and more coming all the time – much also supporting HDR – there’s no reason not to splurge on a big 4K HDR telly. Size for size Hisense is a valid alternative to Samsung and if the price at the time you’re shopping is competitive this is the new brand to take a little more seriously. | bagpuss67
24/8/2017 08:20 | Volume a bit feistier this morning.... 30p under pressure.... It must hold or really the whole 'baby bull' market is down the toilet... | boris cobaka
23/8/2017 19:58 | Maybe Nano should open a website for sales of their product like QMC just did | ih_169538
23/8/2017 18:03 | MrPlay: Nanoco has certainly reduced its exposure in this area by adding Wah Hong, Merck and Kyulux. FYI, I seem to remember that Hansol is largely owned and run by relatives of a top Samsung executive. If so, this is a poor business practice and would eventually come around to haunt Samsung. | mwwh
23/8/2017 17:49 | How can you be a long time reader of the board when your profile was only set up on 30th June? About the same time as friskywookie coincidentally. | v11slr
23/8/2017 17:44 | Long time reader of this board, and Nanoco is my largest position in my portfolio. I see Nanoco is still a top 10 holding in both UBS Smaller Companies fund and Henedersons UK & Irish Smaller Companies Fund. Does anyone know of any recent articles from either houses on Nanoco? Is it fair to say the majority of the daily volume is nervous private investors at the moment. I am extremely bullish on this stock, short term and long term. I believe Samsung will be the next announcement which will see the share price rocket. Any views on this?? | dffsi
23/8/2017 17:28 | From howl01's post 13599 "Response from CW on trading update - The prelim Full Year Results will be released in October as they have been in the past. Last year we issued a full trading update in August and it is likely we will do the same this year." "it is likely we will do the same this year." or as a politician would put it "we have no plans not to issue a trading update in August" | minsky
23/8/2017 17:23 | I guess it depends on whether the update contains good news. Targets beaten, new orders, funding sound..... A miss on any of these will have repercussions. As long as news hasn't leaked which judging by the volume doesn't appear to be the case yet. | boris cobaka
23/8/2017 16:53 | I believe someone here has had a response from Nano investor relations to confirm there will be a trading update in august. I'm guessing nothing this week, so by next Thursday. The share price run up to this highly anticipated event is looking a little sluggish. It would be a shame to go into the weekend sub 30 but not at all unlikely as things stand. Can the support hold once more? | onething
23/8/2017 16:36 | .."responsibility" is not part of NANO's or ME's vocabulary ..same as "accountability" I'm feeling like a broken record on that topic | mr.oz
23/8/2017 16:23 | I would say third consecutive YEAR.would hate to have been the one responsible for this .. | jfacwc
23/8/2017 15:40 | Going for the 8th consecutive week of a falling share price Outstanding. | boris cobaka
23/8/2017 13:52 | I sent their investor relations department an email suggesting they get into PC case lighting, which I thought would be an ideal, price insensitive market which could soak up production of single-colour crystals. Never got a reply. To see the kind of thing I mean, search for images under the term "PC Case Lighting". | loldemort
23/8/2017 11:43 | I wonder how the Budmaster QD agricultural lightning trade has been going? They've been selling those for years but the revenue doesn't sound massive. | luxaeterna1
23/8/2017 09:36 | Has anyone seen horrible bosses 2? Feels like we are living in the movie. Big huge company (DOW) offers a deal. Guys spend all the money making the product. Last minute big company says sorry we do not want anymore. Not because the product is bad but they know they will go into liquidation. At which point big company buys all product for the discounted price. Big company wins again. I say this because how many promises of big companies wanting the worlds best cadmium free dots? Yet they keep holding back. I wish and pray for happier days but Nanoco is dealing with cut throat companies. Was it not Samsung who allowed their workers to be exposed to harmful toxins. What happened to the lawsuit. | mrplay
23/8/2017 08:46 | Boris. They are already working with 16 OEMs on 4 actual programs. It's not all about the new sales guy although hopefully he helps them convert. And Dow are actively marketing as well. | bagpuss67
23/8/2017 08:24 | If this does break and close below 30p on decent volume then sadly it does tend to look like there's another placing on the way, if that is the contingency. Yao's been in place just over a month. Probably another 4 or 5 before we see some impact. Hope he's on a low basic high commission basis. | boris cobaka
22/8/2017 18:08 | This business will never grow significantly unless it can produce its own value-added, more unique and patented products further down the supply chain from its own technology. Might be investable as a potential M&A target. | cordwainer
