30/10/2011 14:41 | NBR---Judy --Me too! -in fact ,I mercilessly ridiculed this idea in the past on ADFVN and presumed the idea had been quietly sidelined.... [Incidentally,I'd also virtually written off this investment as a several thousand pound DEAD LOSS! LOL!} Unfortunately, friends ,who used to be resident in Namibia ,have since returned to UK and I have no private source, on the ground as it were, to call on for info. Just where this [new to me] story about health and safety issues emanates from, I should be keen to learn . Can anyone advise? -SC | shadowchaser
28/10/2011 14:25 | The only news story that I am know of is, that in the future they may try to expand to extract diamonds from offshore. | judy21
28/10/2011 09:27 | TB-----Yes , for as I understood the position when the mining ceased , the relatively new equipment, that was funded by the cash provided by us initial PIs had virtually 'worn out' owing due to the harsh and unusually wet conditions [flooding ]in the last couple of years. This ,and the low diamond yield ,NOT the apparant lapse of the health safety precautions causing deaths in adjacent works ,was the reason for the hiatus. This reason came as a complete surprise to me ,I must admit! Have I missed some widely known announcement /news story? -SC | shadowchaser
