Post 6947 edited to correct link to Daily Mail article

Checked and it links to correct article. NB Agreed that as Tesco in the act should increase consumer awareness of the availability and usefulness of self testing.

The independent has a piece on it too.

It notes

“The deal with Tesco marks the first time self-diagnostic test kits for widespread health conditions will be available with a major UK retailer”

Well a bit of competition will be good as the likes of Boots and Lloyds will no doubt be itching to get in the game. Another difference is boots have facilities already in a lot of stores to do the actual testing which I think is the plan from what was alluded to in the presentation.

The concept must be sound if Tesco has gone for it.
I’m not keen on the Newfoundland lineup but well done to them for getting in with the big boys.

I could only find their net worth on line of just over 2 million. So MHC could buy then over 3 times over lol.

Just read the article which covers products produced by Newfoundland diagnostics.
I googled the name in the pack lol

They do a number of tests and some are similar to MHC.

The interesting difference was that all their tests are done on the spot for results.
I understand quite a few of MHC tests require lab analysis so would have more complex result other than a binary result.

The Tesco bowel cancer test was slated as it uses the type of test that the NHS moved away from.

Had my test last month after sending my free pack off.

My take is Tesco doing a deal with someone else is brilliant news because other competitors will be happy to do a deal with a better testing company like MHC to gain an edge. Boots,Lloyds and a major supermarket like Aldi or Sainsburys will be all over Mhc.
Tesco’s have just put the need for testing at the forefront of peoples minds so free advertising for the sector personally

I hold here but not deeply immersed in the background.

Cash plus Covid is more than enough for me with the self testing side as a bonus.

The Daily Mail is hardly a good starting point but the time taken by the company appears to be centred round the credibility of the testing and the backup service.

There is a big difference between a binary result with rather weak certification to a result that is much more reliable with results and data that can lead to further detailed investigation.

"You pays your money you takes your chance" is my Moto in share buying.....where my health is concerned I don't think I'd try and save money with a supermarket test.

If the home testing market is expanding there will be reviews ...(Which, Sunday papers etc) ....I expect MHC to do well in these and people with health concerns will go for the top product.

One of the problems here is that the posters are usually middle aged men and their approach to personal health is usually ......"nothing to do with me ".

As a result some posters here simply can't imagine people spending money on these products.

I flogged my shares after registering on and playing with their website. For the time and money they've had IMHO it's very poor (great opportunity missed) - and I design and build web stuff. That largely leaves them as an overpriced middle man with big retailers all around. I get the market size and sector. Just not convinced enough in them and their management.

A must read - Edited at 1:48 to correct link.

MHC appears totally beaten to the punch by a range of self test products launched by Tesco at apparently very much lower prices BUT some get panned in this Sunday Mail article.

"Tesco claims its new DIY health checks can diagnose everything from flu to infertility. The Mail asks experts for their verdict...
Supermarket Tesco launched at-home health check kits in March for many issues
Doctors and experts have criticised the tests asking who would manage results"

Could it be that MHC are obsolete before they have even been launched or are their offerings so superior that they will win on quality.

What do you all think?

Not long before 780m shares are 52m. £50,000 bought for employment benefit scheme. LTHs hold large numbers so there will be very few in free float so I personally see a squeeze and shares rising if news lands. I actually see 1.5p is next resistance and before the the consolidation also. A PE of Just 4 is ridiculously low!. Potential to double still only a PE of 8 which is an undervalued indicator. We shall soon enough

not long RV, shortly there will be a 15:1 consolidation [already announced so your shares might be worth 18p [ but you'll have 15 x less in number of course] .

I would suggest that till launch, exact details of the products are market sensitive.

As other companies release new products, MHC won't want to provide all the details upfront.

Hi Billy - I think you have got most of them. There is also a static shot of them on their website (they look like studio mock-ups to me rather than finished printed packs but I am prepared to be corrected). What is missing is any sight of the back of pack copy giving full details of what is needed for the test and what results will be sent

Look at a company like DLAR collapsed today and debt usually is the cause. Financing it is difficult in high interest rate times. We have no issues like that. DLAR print money and in trouble but we make money and no
Debt. We shall see but I think we’re in healthy place. Buying shares to reward workers to attract the best!. Just believe the market will pick the winners and MHC could be one of them

Pavey Ark that is a fair summary.

For myself I will monitor

(atlantic57: That may be the plan !!??)

The new CEO certainly impressed me and the cash is very hard to ignore.

Given that Covid testing is still very likely to be producing a current cash stream I have bought at these very low levels.

Not forgetting that a major shareholder is Mercia and they are rather hard nosed about these things.

As always "you pays your money you takes your chance"

One final note of caution is that when I look at a company and decide NOT to invest I tend to move on .....perhaps keeping an eye open for anything that may change my mind but I NEVER post repeated negative comment on the BB.
