16/1/2024 08:20 | Depends on what your time horizon is. If you are looking 1-2 years I would think we'll be well over the previous 600p highs. If you are looking 1 month who knows. This is not a traders share, that's for sure. It's in "recovery" mode from setbacks due to inter alia component shortages, It's a leader in its field in a "hot" industrial sector. It's just had its best order book.Difficult to see any downside right now. | ![]() backmarker

11/1/2024 13:24 | From their H1 you will see what adjustments were made for that period. Underlying eps was 6.5p, basuc eps was a loss of 2.2p. Guess it's up to folks to decide if they are happy with them. | ![]() disc0dave46

11/1/2024 10:43 | Well, I wasn't expecting the rise to recommence quite THAT quickly...... but I'll take it ! | ![]() backmarker
11/1/2024 08:53 | It was just a pity they didn't remind us of what the forecast figures were. Now I will have to go back through the RNSs to find them.Nevertheless, everything positive and I expect the rise to continue again, albeit more slowly, after some profit taking. | ![]() backmarker
11/1/2024 07:41 | Congrats to Mpac holders. 200p to 300p. +50%. Nice one. I was watching but sadly didn't buy. :-( And a good trading update this morning. | ![]() smithie6
11/1/2024 07:35 | "Strong performance in line with expectations" Link to research report: In a Trading Update for the year to 31 December 2023, Mpac Group reports that revenue and (adj.) profit before tax in H2 were substantially above the first half, whilst margins for the year returned towards normal levels. As a result the Group expects FY23 (adj.) PBT to be in line with market expectations and sees FY23 performance as providing a sound platform for continued growth in FY24. The Trading Update reflects the expectation of a return to normalised operations following the disruption to supply chains which dominated FY22. For FY23 we expect Mpac to show gross profitability at 28.2% compared to 25.0% a year earlier and 23.9% in H1, i.e. implying a second half margin of c.33%. Our (adj.) EBITDA outlook also implies second half margin improvement to 11.5% compared to 6.4% in H1, and for the year, 9.0% (FY22: 7.0%). For FY24 we expect this margin to further improve to 11.2%, with an increase at gross level to a 31.3% margin. Whilst Mpac’s shares have recovered somewhat over recent weeks, they still trade on a 32% discount to the market cap-weighted average of their peers and we maintain our Fair Value of 485p/ share, indicative of a FY24 EV/EBITDA multiple of 7.5x. | ![]() edmonda
11/1/2024 03:58 | Guys, interesting debate, but maybe time to focus back on MPAC ?I'm thinking we should be getting a trading update soon? | ![]() backmarker
10/1/2024 00:56 | Howard Davies on his 750k a year stupidly said that getting on the housing ladder is not so difficult. With average house prices at 9x average wages. Of course we need private landlords. Social housing is so inefficient. Stock lies empty for weeks between tenants, and is poorly maintained. No quick fix. | ![]() shaker45
09/1/2024 17:18 | "BTL owners who have been moving away and thus adding to a shortage" A shortage of rented properties but more homes for households to own. When a BTL owner sells it allows someone previously renting to buy. No change in the total number of housing stock. We need some rental properties. Fewer than we have now. Many of those renting now should be home owners. | ![]() darrin1471
09/1/2024 17:08 | darrin1471 I have to disagree. Who will own all these houses that you rented ( moving around every year )? It needs a private sector. Greedy government adding crazy costs will push up rents so why make it so difficult. I think the system is ok if a little unfair towards BTL owners who have been moving away and thus adding to a shortage. tiger anyway 300 here today | ![]() castleford tiger
09/1/2024 16:04 | Lack of new housing and immigration pushes up demand and prices. BTL pushes up prices. Squeezing BLT moves some renters to homeowners. You have to tackle the problem as a whole. Build more, reduce net migration, reduce prices, make BLT financially unattractive. | ![]() darrin1471 |
