Not necessarily....an oversubscribed placing could be because those in the know sold into last week's share price spike and are covering their short/replacing their shares.....

An oversubscribed placing implies lots more buyers wanting in. I remember IQE's placing at 140p a year or two ago and in the days after the placing, the price soared to 185p as investors who had looked at the company did not want to miss out, even at higher prices. Hopefully we will see the same here (not to 185p even though that would be very nice)

But even if the worst does happen, and there is no evidence to suggest it will, can Circassia take heart from Motif Bio PLC’s (LON:MTFB) recent disappointment?

Last month, the FDA rejected Motif’s NDA for its iclaprim antibiotic, saying that it required more data.

But AIM-quoted Motif asked for talks to iron out the issues and the pair are now meeting in a few weeks.

The company remains upbeat about its drug prospects. It is not going there merely for an explanation, it hopes the talks will help determine “the best way to move iclaprim towards marketing approval”.

Lion - how long did it take for the 2 REVIVE trials to complete, open results and submit file to FDA? That is your answer as this would be an New Drug Application with new Clincal trials and new patients. I would suggest you speak with the Company if you want exact timings?

The issue here IMO (I held 40,000 MTFB when that RNS dropped) is that it says it will have to raise again if the FDA agree a route forward for further clinical trials. Also it states that it will be a NDA application which means another year at least in clinical trials, read outs and data submission. I think one day we may see MTFB licensed for some indication but not until the safety issues raised by the FDA can be answered by further clinical trials.
