04/6/2021 10:38 | Shouldn't a master investor know that MRW is no longer in the FTSE 100 and it could be a while before returning on current share price performance. Automatic entry is currently at a level of 5.7 billion. MRW (4.2b) would have to rise to about £2.37 on that basis. Otherwise re-entry will require others to be relegated and if the market is generally rising that could make the task harder. The AGM should comment on the miserable share price performance. What is holding back the shares and how come SBRY is now touching 6 billion when MRW was higher cap back in September. There might even be a case for share buybacks at current share price if it wasn't for all the debt which will have to be eliminated first. | ![]() scotches

29/5/2021 09:03 | Why are bonus payments required for already well rewarded executives? Would Potts have deliberately performed less well if not incentivised by the extra cash? One idea the remuneration committee might like to consider is tying performance related perks to the share price. Potts took office in March 2015 on a day when the shares closed at 206p. | ![]() scotches

12/5/2021 12:03 | Interesting comments from loganair re Russian "Mere" discount store;I'll avoid touching the door handles in the Salisbury branch in case I get an unexpected offer!Actually it sounds rather like the original Aldi format before it moved more up market which were OK but had a rather confusing range of products which were cheap but perhaps not quite the ones you wanted to buy and had a dire fresh food & frozen meat offer.I prefer the new Aldi. The UK market is very competitive, yes a few cheap sites may be available in a weaker retail market but perhaps not in the best locations.I doubt if more than a few percent savings can be made no matter how much you "pile it high" and cut corners. On the subject of MRW I am probably talking my own book having recently bought shares;but I feel even after the recent few pence rise it offers good value as income investment plus prospects of a modest capital appreciation as it seems undervalued compared to its quoted rivals. | ![]() 1tx
