Mrw delisted from fste1O0 and go into fste 250 also sbry volume was high so i guess they sold here and brought sbry to balance profiles?

I don't know if anybody noticed but late trading on Friday (shown mostly as sells) produced the highest volume of 1 day trading in MRW for at least 3years. Meanwhile the share price goes up to the accompaniment of heavy selling. An RNS should be out this week but one does wonder if something is going on here.

I believe the real story here is the tie up with Amazon. At some point Amazon will take them over and use the better stores for parcel collection and Amazon Fresh, selling off the rest

Out of interest, in the last accounts net assets were more than Sainsbury's AND MRW the same as their market cap (ish). A lot of owned stores as well. So if anything, if worse comes to worse it can be broken up to get my money back! But £2.30 and a divi this year will do me.

Yes, I was trying to say it is too cheap but maybe I was too subtle sorry.

Just so I'm clear! Are you saying it's toooo cheap? If so £2.10 is still too cheap. But it won't happen over night and will dip after the ex divi date in May, before another good rise to 2.20 I reckon, and then let Amazon drive it up during the year to December.

Shroders Obviously see value now. Will stay low whilst filling orders.

5 years ago Schroders wrote up the "value" investment case for MRW and it catalogues a lot of the reasons why shareholders choose to still be invested. The article mentions a market cap of 6.7bn whereas today it's 4.3 so the "value" not yet perceived by the market. There is also another estimate for the food manufacturing as at 2016 = £700m.

It was Schroders knocked the share price in late Jan when they ditched almost 5% of the company (113m shares, half their holding).

Top holders: markets.ft.com/data/equities/tearsheet/profile?s=MRW:LSE

Today's RNS is for just 2m shares (if the FT figure of 4.9% is correct), albeit they are getting them back a little lower than Jan.

Well Schroder's obviously don't want to miss out on the dividend at this price or Amazon interest in the company!I know I said I wouldn't post, but too many positives at the moment here for the next 2 to 3 years. And the smallest can only get bigger whilst the largest hit a ceiling and shrink!

Shhhhs could be a bid on the way in the next 18 months if all goes well! It's unlikely to take sainsburys because of Argos and tesco, well tesco will be a monopolies issue so their out.

Amazon are in a unique situation. They can cross sell Prime membership
for starters. Amazon's huge online scale means they can be highly profitable on
tiny margins, margins which would sink most other businesses.

Best hope for Morrisons is a potential Amazon bid.

So, is that why Amazon, partner of Morrison’s, just opened a physical supermarket in Ealing?
