27/4/2007 16:24 | Well I'm still holding. Anybody else here still holding. | karm
27/4/2007 16:16 | That may have been a bluff? If it was, it worked! Given that they can now get the rest for pittance, I think that maybe they will go for the lot. | the_doctor
27/4/2007 16:13 | but they only want to buy 70%! | bageo
27/4/2007 16:00 | A further 2% and they can force sellers. | the_doctor
27/4/2007 15:55 | karm - why not sell quickly .... Zijin are missing less than 14% of total shares so why do you think all the sellers are wrong? | shaken
26/4/2007 19:49 | shaken but not stirred... | sicilian_kan
26/4/2007 19:47 | no karm done then.............. | shaken
26/4/2007 14:39 | Finally they've returned the shares to my account. | karm
26/4/2007 12:51 | I've already heard that Etrade have sold shares in accounts that have not responded to an email they sent out a couple of days ago which never got received. The email apparently stated they if you don't responed they would sell your shares. This is etrade acting as an advisory and not an execution broker. I have them checking my account with there coporate team to find out what the situation is. I did email them on the ...... "It has come to my attention that in the event of 'recommended offers' for Monterrico Metals (MNA) I DO NOT ACCEPT ANY OFFER unless you hear differently from me and I agree to the acceptance of an offer........" If they have sold them I will be taking legal action and report them to the FSA. Karm | karm
26/4/2007 11:39 | I can not trade MNA now. My etrade is now showing a new ticker MNAA. Monterrico Metals PLC ORD GBP0.10(ASSD XIAMN CSH) | karm
26/4/2007 09:32 | Of course they're quoting prices. The shares are still listed so trading continues. | arf dysg
26/4/2007 08:35 | The "residue" 30% of MNA shares will continue to be quoted on AIM. This explains the reason, despite the offer being declared wholly unconditional, the market makers are still quoting prices for the minority shareholders. | enamel
25/4/2007 22:52 | Zijin are getting around...see: LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Fundraising news upset sentiment in Ridge Mining, 13 pence shy at 138. The company has completed a placing of around 12 mln shares to institutional and other investors at a price of 125 pence apiece to raise 15 mln stg. Part of the net proceeds will be used to continue the development of Blue Ridge until funding is received from Imbani Platinum and the consortium of South African banks. Zijin will subscribe for sufficient shares to retain its 20.3 pct stake in Ridge. | sicilian_kan
25/4/2007 07:03 | Very interesting PETOIL. | a1jbg
24/4/2007 16:40 | Davepower look at TLD. bid at 159.25p, unconditional but its possible to sell for 180p today. | petoil
24/4/2007 15:14 | This is weird. I cannot think of any scenario where after a bid at 350 has been made unconditional that the bid would go over this value. I certainly sense that all is not on the table so to speak and that there is something going on behind the scenes!!! But what? Could be shorters closing yes but would you close a short now?? It doesn't make sense. Would you short a stock which has a Chinese bid of 350 under it. How far could you expect it to drop heh? Maybe close in a week's time when the Chinese position is known and the shares drop out of favour... Though I suppose by then the holders are not going to part with their shares if they haven't done so already by that time and anyone who is still short could really catch a cold and have to pay way over the odds to close their position. There must be another party that wants shares and which is prepared to sit it out for big gains. Anyone know how big a minority stake has to be to have a director on the board? Maybe this is the cheapest way to have a joint venture. Hoover up the shares that noone wants as the PIs bail out on the open market. Do the rules still hold about declaring interest in a company under these circumstances? Hmmm?? Well whatever I'm holding Cheers Dave | davepower
24/4/2007 13:50 | The deadline is this Friday. Early next week we should know the position and how many shares Zijin have. | arf dysg
24/4/2007 13:43 | £210,000 of buys so far today????????????? | aspers
24/4/2007 13:39 | Its not known whether institutions have held out yet is it? | the_doctor
24/4/2007 13:33 | I still think the instutions are holding out for a reason. Most PI investorS would be out by now or should i say shafted. | karm
24/4/2007 13:32 | I wonder who will own MNA by the end of the year????????? Shaken.....High as a Gulfstream IV I fear!!! | aspers
24/4/2007 13:18 | Is it possible that Zijin are taking advantage of the cheap price & trying to buy the lot? | the_doctor
24/4/2007 13:13 | Well done, karm. I still don't understand what's happening. I would have preferred to keep my spread bets, but they made me bin them. Bummer of all bummers!!! | arf dysg
24/4/2007 12:43 | I can sell online @353p better than the offered price. | karm
