Summary in 2014 results, might just be coming about now. Capitalised text to highlight.

"Operational highlights during the year include a three way outline deal with Ottomen Estate Resources and Hangzhou Water to work together towards a contract for a Forward Osmosis desalination plant on XuGong Island in China. The contract represents a milestone in Modern Water's development - it will be its first plant in China and demonstrates further scaling up of the company's FO technology. Modern Water said that successful completion of the project would PROVIDE IT WITH A STRONG POSITION from which to compete for FURTHER PROJECTS in China. According to Modern Water, the selection of its technology for the project has confirmed the Group's position as the world-leading FO technology provider.

The firm has also signed a distribution agreement for containerised seawater reverse osmosis desalination plants in the Middle East, further developing its relationship with Hangzhou Water, China's largest desalination equipment and construction company. In December 2013, Modern Water was part of a UK Government trade mission to China, led by the UK Prime Minister, David Cameron. The Group said its FO technology is an excellent solution to help China overcome its challenge of providing clean water to the 400 cities that currently face water scarcity.

In 2012 the Chinese government announced plans to invest US$536bn in environmental protection as part of its current five year plan, making China an important strategic market for monitoring products. In order to maximise sales opportunities across China Modern Water decided to grant Beijing Green Science and Technology an exclusive distribution agreement to cover the sale of its products across mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau. In return the firm will receive a guaranteed minimum revenue for the next two years."

The Sijiao Island (Chinese: 泗礁665;; pinyin: Sìjiāoshān) is the largest island in the Shengsi Islands (嵊泗1015;岛) with an area of 21.2 km². The island has subtropical climate with the yearly average temperature of 15.8 °C.[1] It is administrated by Shengsi County (嵊泗1439;), a part of Zhoushan Prefecture (舟山2320;区).

Tourism Edit

There are regular ferry lines from Shanghai Wusong, Shiliupu and Luchao Ports operating several times a day. The average travel time from Shanghai is about 5 hours. The island is a touristic destination offering sea bathing.

References Edit

Perhaps 2000 baths is enough or a quick shower after a dip in the sea.

Background from 2013 and HWTT as source of RO MWG sell in mideast. Note same throughput as RNS today.

This should deliver something, some day, also China.
Takes a long time.

Perhaps this is analagous to the distributed grid idea with electric power, where instead of megalithic power stations there is local production and storage on many smaller scales with sharing over the wide network. As I understand it, this gives great resilience against outage of one of the few huge plants (by terrorism or act of God). Of course us Brits with the proposed monstrously expensive nuclear plants are behind the curve.
500 cubic meter desalination plants, perhaps solar powered, could provide potable water to small communities in very many arid areas of the world if they prove: a. effective, b. cheap to run, c. reliable. Even better if they can be made modular and the capacity increased ten fold. Large water plants and pipework are impractical in many places.
IMO these are exciting times for MWG, and whilst the jury is out I feel his Lordship has tucked his black cap in the drawer for now.
Excuse the ramble. I do hold btw.

This is in reality no more than a 2nd phase test facility that is to be built in China.

The massive difference now is that the tech is proven to a high enough level that potential customers are prepared to pay to see it operation.

For me the most important part of the statement is that MWG have confirmed that they expect to reach market expectations this trading year.

Just for reference, proper-sized water treatment works quote outputs in TCMD (Thousand Cubic Metres per Day) OR Ml/D (Megalitres per day) which is actually the same unit.

Treatment works in Britain typically range from 30 - 300 TCMD

harold, storage helps and the island is small.
Had a picture of the plans once upon a time if the same development.
Also, they may use sea water for the sewage etc so less desalination demand but demand for brine sewage treatment possible as per Gibraltar, another opportunity for sales.

Large bath uses 0.25 cubic m if the capacity is 500 cubic metres thats 2000 baths..per day.
that does not seem a large plant. I suppose its better than nothing.let's hope someone doesn't leave a power shower on.

The re-test of the support at 10p looks convincing now.

Flag/pennant tp at 12.5.

Added this morning.

At least three positive chart patterns developing concurrently...

Parcel, sell price would be high due to the market potential and IP. Bids more likely out of USA or one of the large global groups than China. The BB might not yet appreciate the value yet. The IP is very useful indeed. The share price reflects the current business, not potential.

Spread reduced. Someone placing some demand but not wanting to chase.
Expect more developments, news.

Looking over my old notes there are other irons in fire I thought might have gone cold. This Chinese news was one of them so others might come back too.

Anyone knowing the background to this announcement knows how long it took and how very, very important as a Chinese starter. It was first mentioned on Cameron's Chinese visit under the previous Executive Chairman who was ousted.

Island developments in high end apartments, housing.

Away for a while so limited time to post background.

Expect more info on ZLD out of MWG imho.

Corner turned imho.

What are those "market forecasts" though? Does the company not probably need a fund raise at some point?

500 cubic meters is in reality just a test station, more interesting though is the expectation of meeting market expectations this year. That is a good sign.

p1nkfish, Yesterday the chart retested the 10p level and seemingly found support at what was the previous historical resistance.

We already have a confirmed bowl for a tp of approx 12.7

The potential High and Tight Flag pattern is confirmed with an eod close above 11.3. An eod close above this level currently has a min tp of approx 14.1

14p coincides with another area of historical resistance. Beyond this, the next stop could be around 20p

p1nkfish. Yes, that looks like confirmation. A good find and thanks for sharing. Wondering about adding again.
Will have a good look at the charts later! :-)

ps, this doesn't need to advance much further to qualify for a potential H&TF chart pattern.
