Staffordshire-based JCB creates hundreds of new jobs

JCB has begun recruiting up to 200 new workers to meet an increase in demand for products.

Almost 2,000 jobs were lost at the Rocester-based firm during the recession but an "improvement in some markets" has helped, a spokesman said.

Employees, who have not had a pay rise since January 2008, have also agreed a three-year pay deal.

Estate agents and mortgage lenders have given a "cautious welcome" to plans in the Budget to help first-time buyers.

Stamp duty on sales up to £250,000 will be suspended for those buying their first property this year and next, Chancellor Alistair Darling said.

that last trade was mine after the ex-divi date...buggar!! I read the results and failed to notice the ex date!!

See where we go but I suspect there will not be too much movement in either direction for some time.

Gleeson (GLE.L), the urban regeneration and strategic land specialist, announces
its results for the six months to 31 December 2009.

Key Points - Financial

· Revenue from continuing operations increased by 17% to GBP36.0m (2008:
GBP30.6m)

· A pre-tax profit on continuing operations of GBP0.3m (2008: loss GBP23.7m)
was made

· Net cash increased in the period by GBP9.5m to GBP20.4m and today stands at
GBP28.1m

· Concluding that the Group has excess cash, the Board has decided to pay a
special dividend per share of 15p
