Lower revenues in current year?

Report in MasterInvestor suggests a dip but not denting profit much or hitting the divi. Then it goes on to say the next year revenues remain lower than 2018 but pre-tax actually increases, which I'm not sure how they manage. Anyway link below:-

This one is heading south a bit. Ive dropped 5% since their financial reports earlier this yr. Any news on why this one seems to be dropping?

The increase in Liontrust AUM - I was only aware of this from their RNS the other day. You can also keep an eye on the factsheets on their website and check for any changes in AUM each month.

Riverman - I have checked out the Liontrust Smaller Co factsheet - - I'd be grateful if you point me s to where I can see changes in AUM as I can't see it.

Thanks

Yes, but still slightly positive. I’m very impressed with how management have transformed this company in the last 3 years. There is no reason why they couldn’t take this to £10bn AUM over the next 5 years or so. That would have a big impact on earnings and dividends.

As I flagged the other day, inflows have indeed slowed to a trickle. Compare with Liontrust which saw further strong flows.

The fund range is fairly biased towards UK small caps so should do well if there is some clarity over brexit.

I like Miton, but note that performance on their UK multi cap fund is weak over 1 & 3y (4th quartile),albeit still strong over long-term.

This is by far their biggest and most established fund. Knowing how fickle retail investors are, this could lead to slower inflows in the short term.

Over the longer term shouldn't be too much of an issue as I would expect performance to recover given the pedigree of the fund manager, but just something to keep an eye on.

Miton is not especially cheap on a simple pe measure, but they hold a lot of cash - on an ex-cash basis it looks cheap.

Is this brexit affected?

Can someone tell me why these are NOT cheap?

I say that as they look cheap and I want to buy.

When I feel like this I need to hear the "sell story" as well to temper my enthusiasm, stay my hand and potentially save me from an expensive mistake.

Results quite encouraging I thought. They have a broader range of strategies now and have done very well in the last 2 years. No blunders for 3 or 4 years following the management changes.

Simon Thompson

"Since the financial year-end, Miton’s AUM has risen by 4.3 per cent to £4.56bn, albeit net flows are neutral so this is a reflection of the market performance. Bearing this in mind, I am maintaining the investment thesis that I outlined in my January article, so I anticipate a further unwinding of the risk factors that have been subduing equity valuations since the autumn and the ongoing recovery in global stock markets to continue. That possibility is certainly not in the price given that Miton’s shares trade on a modest cash-adjusted PE ratio of 9 for the year just ended, and offer a 4.2 prospective dividend yield based on the payout being raised by a fifth to 2.4p a share this year. Buy."

Slightly surprised at level of bounce as nothing particularly unexpected in these results - we knew the AUM already so should have been able to gauge earnings from there.

I really like Miton but slight concern that relative performance of multi cap income fund (by far their main driver of flows) has dipped a bit, now fourth quartile over 3y, albeit still very strong since lainch. That wouldn't bother me but I'm just mindful of how incredibly fickle retail investors are, and I note this fund seems to be in outflow now.

I'm waiting on the sidelines for time being having sold out last year.

Oxman you could be right, but I think the Brexit effect is holding this back with many punters looking for comparitive safety until we know where we are heading.I didn't really want to sell mine, but I took a small profit and will keep monitoring as I think it's a good company.
