Will be paid "within 10 days" of effective date. Expect it will be sooner than that. I don't believe you need to hold onto the shares any longer as div was to be paid to Miton shareholders.

Morning. I've set up a board for the newly merged entity here:-

All welcome!

Well it’s over and out on Miton and over to the Premier Miton board. This has been a good investment for me and I’m cautiously optimistic for the combined business given its critical mass and 2 good sales teams. I had shares in Premier Asset Management as well, so a bigger holding for me going forwards.

28th Nov I believe. No ex date as per a normal dividend. As I understand it, you have to still be holding your new shares with PAM on 28th.

Agree...everything just being quietly processed in the background... anyone know when the special divi gets paid to Miton shareholders?

At the request of the company, trading on AIM for the under-mentioned securities has been temporarily suspended from 14/11/2019 7:30am, pending an announcement.

Diviin, concur re Polar cap trust.

It is a slightly odd market currently.

There is tremendous value in some sectors and none (ie hugely overpriced) in others.

MGR been super cheap for a while. PAM getting the best of the merger in my view. (although looks like a good deal all round really)

Just another point. I do find it weird how quiet boards are for profitable stocks like this. Yet, go to complete punts like some junior oil and mineral exploration companies and there’s stacks of punters analysing them.

I went to have a look at the polar capital board (similar to MGR- loads of cash, good performing funds, single digit P/E) absolutely nothing in the last 3 months! Could be my next buy depending on how the funds are looking.

For me it’s an interesting arbitrage play- however, i’m Out. Can’t get too greedy after a 38% gain in less than 3 weeks!

Premier a bit more expensively valued although diversified. Good bit of business for them as MGR looked a screaming bargain at the pre-merger price.

Good luck all holders.

provided the deal goes through there is a 12% gain (inc the special 4.9p divi)baked in here. And holders will see that return by November .

That is around 50% annualised.

That seems a nice return to me

If the deal does not go through (it will go through as both parties want it). well really very decent results from Miton yesterday should provide a back stop.

Nice risk return if you ask me

to me the merger makes sense.

there are synergies and layers of cost that can be removed I am sure..

I held PAM previously but sold a while ago. Their mutli asset funds seem to be very popular with advisers looking for an easy, all in one solution for their clients. They had a very good run of solid inflows but this seems to have dried up recently.

They seem to be a pretty solid outfit, but this is a very crowded space - there are dozens of similar MA funds (Miton themselves have some) which are all pretty samey. Also, PAM is not particularly cheap on a PE basis - I would estimate around 15 pe based on recent AUM - so I personally wouldn't invest at current levels.

Need to have a look at Premier and their fund flows. Superficial fordt look- more richly valued on a P/E basis.

All dependent on Premier’s share price performance in the coming months- a 12% pickup if it stays flat.

Decided to sell - 25% profit in a day isn't too bad! I would have happily held Miton above 50p and beyond as a standalone entity, but less keen on owning Premier - their mutli asset funds don't look particularly interesting to me, but good luck to those that decide to hold.

Quoted just 50p to sell. Seems too low so keeping hold of thus for now.

Propels them into being a much bigger asset manager. Overall, I think its a positive move.

Wow. Well I wasn’t expecting that.

Talk about a fortunate time to get in.

Assuming premier’s shares don’t slide...

I own both companies. Overall, probably a sensible move if they can make it work. Both companies showed signs of losing a bit of momentum on their own.

Indeed, a well kept secret, I had my finger on the button for a decent sized top up yesterday afternoon, even getting a couple of quotes...but thought: what's another day whilst we see the outcome of Parliament's latest farrago-possibly get it even cheaper tomorrow. Curses!!
