Another troll by the username lsehotdealz haha, share price is stagnant and there’s talks of fundraise at 10p on that board lol desperation has lead to going round posting on different board to prevent share price from dropping, usually ud stay quiet and average down and accumulate if you see huge potential lmaoo he’s spamming all the boards

Good call. Luck with the trade.

The decision to axe the payout looks wise,
focus on debt pay down before the next recession arrives.

EI - that sounds about right - I was just looking for a technical bounce (now +10) since my post.

Jeffian - As for MARS, I've posted over the years my position there.

Bought in 2011 @93.47, sold a third in 2013 @164.28 and still hold the remainder.

I only have one of their pubs locally and despite its excellent location, I think its awful.

On MAB the best you can say is balance sheet debt has been reduced by £1 billion
since 2008, helped by disposals admittedly. And their freeholds are around 88%.

Once the huge pension recovery payments end they may have more financial
leeway, however that's another 4 years away - and it's likely we will have another
recession before then.

I can't see significant upside tbh, my view may be too cautious.

MARS and MAB? The two stinkers in the sector? I imagine this is a 'recovery' strategy!

Here - primarily yes.

I'm looking for a second company in the sector having held MARS for years. I've been kicking myself over GNK which I intended to buy in December, but for one reason or another - except for a couple of spread bets - I didn't.

Besides the net debt, the pension recovery plan is what strikes me.

£48 million a year through to 2023 in agreed pension funding payments.

That's a large chunk of pre tax profits.

Miss Womble - See post 515, it's the only reason I'm a shareholder. Bit peeved because my most regular pub is currently closed and being converted to an Ego.
