Drilling Report

Glencar Mining Plc

Drilling to Commence on Glencar's Bokoro Property

12 May 2006

Glencar Mining plc ("Glencar" or the "Company") is pleased to
announce good progress on the Sankarani Project in Mali and that
drilling is scheduled to commence on the Sanankoro target there in
early June.

Exploration work on the Sankarani Project in southern Mali commenced
in February of this year. This followed the execution of a Framework
Agreement on the 13th February 2006, between Glencar and Orogen
Holding BVI Limited ("Orogen"), a subsidiary of Gold Fields Limited,
whereby Orogen, or one of its subsidiaries, through exploration
expenditures of up to US$12 million, and subject to certain
conditions, may earn up to a 65% interest in three of Glencar's five
exploration concessions in Mali at Bokoro, Sanioumale and Farasaba.

Geological mapping and rock sampling was followed up by trenching on
three targets, two in the Farasaba licence and the third at Sanankoro
in the Bokoro licence. The trenches have been mapped and sampled.
A reverse circulation drilling programme of approximately 2,500
metres is now scheduled to commence in early June on the first of
these targets at Sanankoro, within the Bokoro licence. The Sanankoro
target is a shear-hosted, mineralised system, within altered
metasedimentary rocks with associated intrusive porphyries. There
are extensive artisanal workings in the target zone and surrounding
area.

A RAB drilling orientation programme on the Sanioumale licence is
also scheduled to be commenced in early June and to be completed
prior to the onset of the rainy season.

The exploration programme to date has discovered a number of exciting
targets on all three of the licences in the joint venture. The
current phase of exploration work on the Sankarani Project is
designed to advance a number of these targets and to generate and
define additional drill targets for the next field season.

Glencar has recently announced that second phase drilling has
extended the strike length of its 95% owned Komana West target in
southern Mali to 1,100 metres. Intersections from the second phase
programme included 11 metres at 41.84 grams/tonne (uncut) or 13.19
grams/tonne (cut) and 31 metres at 4.27 grams/tonne.

Noel Kiernan has had a long and friendly relationship with everyone at GEX. He has been tremendously successful with Celtic Resources and perhaps other interests in Canada, too.

I wouldnt see the sale as a negative at all, at this point.

Hi there...I am considering buying into this stock as it looks interesting. Does anyone know if the sale of the former Directors Shareholding just recently is a good or bad sign...why would he sell at this point? Love to hear anyones thoughts and hope no one the uninvited post.

Regards

when is the AGM?

CC - Id expect that Hugh Mc will be in a position to provide 'indicative' results from Goldfields efforts at the AGM.

Its not that the CEO likes pulling Bengalese cats out of the bag at the AGM but Im certain he can see that particular train coming down the tracks in his direction.

I tend to find the discrete word before or after the meeting to be the most helpful guidance. And, as an attendee and holder of long standing the officers trust is expected (within ethical boundaries) and honoured, as one would expect.

Id interpret the current weakness ( Im not at all disconcerted) as a buying opportunity prior to the AGM and Goldfields progress update. And who is to say theree wont be other news at the AGM!!!!

John,

Over the past 6months Ive added 400K and sold them all at a very substantial profit.

But GEX is now into the early stages of a new phase of its phoenix like renewal, thanks to what has occured in Mali. As the CEO has understated 'there is something very significant there' and there is. I just wish he would have provided an estimate of the ounces in the ground in the most recent RNS but GEX's CEO is a rare super quality diamond who understands the value of understatement. I know someone who intends extracting that estimate from him at the AGM - on the basis of "on the record" or "off the record" of the meeting

In the meantime Ive added 305,000 and intend adding to the 400K level, in the current phase and as finances allow. My ability to add is directly proportionate on how RGT performs in the meantime (see todays RNS) but its by no means guaranteed that Id be prepared to sell RGT until early 2007.

Let me recommend that you consider adding both to Ur portfolio.

What I have bought and intend buying in this phase I intend holding quiet long term.

With all the excitement at GGG just lately, I imagine GEX could plateau for a while. There may be better opportunities to top up, there may not, of course. Hard to say. With the first update from Goldfields possible any time in the next few weeks, interest could quickly return.
