GLENCAR MINING--- GEX
A gold play increasing it's resource --- TECHNICALS

After discovering a good strike at Komana West in Mali in late 2005 the shares rose to a peak in early 06. From there the chart has formed an A-B-C down with volume drying up on the C leg. Try looking at this on a weekly chart with a 14 period RSI and volume histogram. The volume is distorted by Glencar's previous funding arrangements ( which ended in Aug/Sept '07 following a private placement ) which caused a volume spike once a month however it is still apparent that volume has dried up. The 14 week RSI has just come up through 30. This is quite a classic pattern with the excitement of the discovery then a fall away. There is news due in the next few weeks of 9,800m of drilling completed in late '07. Those drilling results could be the catalyst for the next leg up.

In Elliott terms if the impulsive rise in late'05/early '06 is counted as wave 1, the A-B-C down as a corrective wave 2 it is now time to look at an impulsive wave 3 up. Should this be the case wave 1 up was 14 pence therefore implying wave 3 would be at least 14 pence as wave 3 would be the longest wave.

Confidence is increasing at Komana West to become a producing mine, a known orebody at Komana East and further targets to be drilled in the Komana licence area along the hosted shear zone from Komana West increases potential. With a further 4 license areas in Mali, 3 of which are in a farm in deal with Gold Fields s.a., there is a lot more to come from Glencar.

Check out the technicals, check out the fundamentals, DYOR.

Starting anytime now ???

A major airborne magnetic and radiometric survey
covering all five of the licences in both the Sankarani and
Yanfolila projects in southern Mali has been commissioned. This
detailed survey, with flight lines at 100 metre spacing and survey
flying height at 60 metres, is anticipated to commence on 14th
January 2008 and is expected to give rise to new drilling targets
within the five licences.

Glencar is a gold play.

Disclosure - I hold the shares and a long trading position.

Just so we can keep up to speed with all the action this month.
Drill results at end of month.

Also don't forget, & tie a knot in your hanky for:

Well the audio has much advise & some of the characteristics for success in minerals, were very aposite.
Look where the gold has been found in quantity, Nevada:but GEX is in an area that has many mines.
Locate next to existing process plants.
Location in a gold mining region will lead to easy take out at a profit if you find it.
Oh & yes a million ounces is a lot of money.
GEX is at least half way there.

Maniac,

Its certainly more about the risk-reward of this particular investment and having the patience to hibernate while the good men in GEX work at increasing shareholder value.

With some good luck (that would be a change) and expert interpretation of the drilling results we will have a much clearer picture of the characteristics of what GEX is sitting on in Komana, shortly.

Nicked from the Her, bb.
Very interesting, enormously long, first part perhaps more relevant to GEX.

Some of you may enjoy this:

Have posted this elsewhere in connection with my investment in Gold Summit.

However that apart would encourage everyone here to listen to this. Seems to sum up our interest in high risk stocks...

Video:

Superb video as explained below. This was in connection with a Gold Play which I do not own - Piedmont Mining, but am hoping that Gold Summit (which I do own) can replicate their success.

Discovery Investing - Looking for Ten Baggers.

Here are some of the points

1. Are the assets potentially world class? Cure for TB, Major new Gold Mine etc
2. Do they own it or control it? 100% good, 51% etc
3. Management and Board of Directors - How Good? Track record? Are they concerned for Shareholder? Personal Stake?
6. What's the catalyst? If it has a chance for discovery.
7. Buy when CHEAP (normally no one likes them at the time)
9. Buy enough Stock to make a difference.
10. Not a trading strategy - Go To Sleep stratgy when you have your position - Let it mature and not sell. Have patience, courage and be willing to lose.

Am I right in thinking that today is the first up day in about 7 weeks?! lol

Surely anything company related would have had to have been mentioned in the last update. So it looks like GEX have made good progress in the drilling, results backlogged in the assay labs which is common across the whole sector and not GEX's fault.

The results will be determined in due course and will help further define a resource that still looks very attractive [particularly at the current Mcap] - being both open at depth and along strike and with GEX being confident that it can initially be exploited by open pit techniques.

...oh and the JV is progressing nicely.

All against a backdrop of a gold rally that most commentators feel will continue into '08.

2008 should be interesting - best of luck to GEX
