03/2/2005 12:39 | Sunny Sid Thank you for the link. Then, after downloading the Interim Results for Millbrook, I found the long defintion on the Profit & Loss page. This is the first set of accounts that I have tried to fully read. At first glance it all looks very open, transparent and exciting with very positve comments. I have started to put some figures together but have come unstuck at Future Growth Rate - where would I need to look for this? More fundamental comments and company feedback very welcome as I have many more questions about this golden nugget! | alwaysphoto
02/2/2005 17:07 | EBITDA = Earnings Before Interest Taxes Depreciation & Amortisation, see the link below for background etc., Hope this helps, Sid | sunny sid
02/2/2005 11:29 | What does EBITDA stand for? | alwaysphoto
17/12/2004 20:09 | I've held this one for 9m or so, following Gledhow in following a fall in the price. I think this is a good company with some solid products. Missed the action on this one in the last few days, but very pleased to see a strong debut on AIM. How many EBITDA positive nanotechnology companies are on AIM at the moment.....not many, I suspect! | topvest
17/12/2004 11:16 | You may well be right, stu, I'm not known for the accuracy of my memory :) , but to me it's academic for now as regards MBK, anyway, for I have no intention of selling. Be lucky, Sid PS, Come to think of it, I believe it may be one of those 'sliding scale' siuations, stu, where your tax-rate benefit effectively improves to the lowest level of 10% over several years, which I still feel may be three. With any luck some kind soul out there will post to enlighten us. | sunny sid
16/12/2004 21:40 | Fair enough Sid, but I thought the preferential 10% rate was after 2 years not 3? | stu31
16/12/2004 09:31 | I was only dreaming, stu31. Although I have held since the early days, I was not in at the float, so not EIS. Still, if I hold for more than 3 years I'll get the preferential 10% tax rate on sale as a 'business asset', so not all bad. Regards, Sid | sunny sid
15/12/2004 22:30 | impressive start | glennborthwick
15/12/2004 19:27 | Can't join LSE without invalidating the EIS. If you hold from Ofex float (as I have) all gains will be tax free from next may. | stu31
15/12/2004 17:51 | For anyone who wants a good introduction to this company, the company's announcement "Millbrook joins AIM", also on advfn gives an excellent coverage of the company's background and history. Cheers Th | theophilus
15/12/2004 17:19 | Thanks for setting up the charts, Theo. This is a thread thats going to see some interesting action in times to com IMO - come to that, today wasn't half bad either. Having followed and held Millbrook from the start on Ofex, I believe this little business is something of a rareity. A tech business, with great IP, in a niche that's likely to become more like a continent in time to come... but not only that... it's got great management too! (Technical brilliance and good management all to often do not go hand in hand, in my [expensive] experience). My only grouse? That MBK is not on LSE; I would like to hold this one in my ISA. Good luck to all who have held from Ofex, and to newbies: Welcome aboard. Sid | sunny sid
15/12/2004 16:57 | After its recent results on ofex Millbrook made its debut on AIM today. Price was strong with a shortage of stock. Small buys sent the stock up but at the end of the day a large sale had no effect on the share price. Capitalised at only just over £3m., this is one of the lowest capitalised on AIM and could have a good future. The area of nanotechnology can be a growth area with at present little competition. OK for a small investment at the moment, could do well long term. Cheers Th. | theophilus
15/12/2004 15:16 | Welcome MBK stella opening day 10.5-11.5 | capt bligh |
