Hey everyone I just bought in today, I had this on my watchlist and probably missed the boat a little bit, but I'm in at 125p for end of Feb results. Just in case it hasnt been mentioned before on this BB, Robbie Burns or naked trader has just bought this share and it popped up on his website trades list. I know plenty of people follow his trades and buy in as well, I'm not sure this has had any effect on the continued rise. good luck everyone

The share price has risen the best part of 15% this week alone.
Maybe in reaction to the positive wording in the pre-close trading statement a week or so ago and the realisation that the results are only 4 weeks or so away as they said they would be announced in late February.

Ben, the operating profit mentioned looked about inline to me,
as forecasts were for approx £8 Million pre tax.
One Broker has upgraded pre tax by £25,000, that is it.

PRE-CLOSE TRADING UPDATE

Microgen plc ('Microgen' or 'the Group') provides a pre-close trading update for the year ended 31 December 2010.

The performance of the Group has continued to be strong and ahead of the Board's expectations. As a result, the Board now anticipate, subject to audit, to report revenue in excess of GBP33 million and operating profit before intangible amortisation and exceptional items in excess of GBP8 million. Growth in the revenue of the Microgen Aptitude Solutions Division in 2010 was in excess of 40%. The Group's gross cash balance at 31 December 2010 was GBP25.4 million and net funds of GBP23.5 million, after returning GBP6.2 million to shareholders via the tender offer which completed in September.

The Board anticipate issuing the preliminary results in late February.

Three large sales at the end of the day - almost certainly day traders, so a good part of the rise could be speculative. But there must be a reason behind this sudden interest.

I've always thought so after they got rid of the lower margin division. Aptitude is a great product and with all the R&D expensed and FCF/EV of under 9, they're very cheap by software standards.

Still a lot more to go IMHO

- Less shares on the market = greater EPS = higher divi = more interest = harder to get = higher SP!!!
- More products = more cash = greater EPS etc......

Glad to be in a success story for a change!

Todays RNS just reminding us that just under 6.5million shares taken off the market.

Hopefully this will soon be reflected in the share price ...

Large selling coming in! Why would they have not taken up the buy-back offer? Anyone any ideas?
