30/11/2009 18:12 | Is there a reason why neither of today's RNS were flagged up on my monitor? Selling 50k explains the drop given the low volumes. | greenroom78
30/11/2009 18:07 | Claire Groom sold 50k shares today leaving only 30K left | ukinvestor220
26/11/2009 12:08 | Thanks B1ggles, I couldn't remember if it was one or two weeks after the ex date. | greenroom78
26/11/2009 12:00 | I missed that. I must read RNSs more carefully! The special div will "be paid on 18 December 2009 to Shareholders on the Register of Members as at 6.00 pm on 4 December 2009". | b1ggles
26/11/2009 11:55 | Thanks. If correct, that's not too long to wait then. | truffle
26/11/2009 11:28 | Truffle. I think ex date is 4th paid on 11th dec (might be wrong though) | greenroom78
26/11/2009 11:01 | This morning the company has announced that the resolution to approve the sale of its Billing Services Division has been formally approved. The 4p special dividend will be paid following the disposal which is good news, although not quite sure exactly when. | truffle
26/11/2009 10:15 | excellent especially given the fall back today | gswredland
26/11/2009 10:11 | Buying coming in at 95p now. | rivaldo
25/11/2009 19:16 | Hi - wish all my purchases had the same effect :o)) | rivaldo
25/11/2009 16:10 | Just joined you guys. My mere purchase of 1200 seeems to have sent the price up 0.5! | gswredland
25/11/2009 09:28 | Going for new highs again. | rivaldo
24/11/2009 10:40 | Would be good to see the share price pushing up towards 100p. Feels as though it should, and probably could, be higher based on the recent interim management statement which sounded quite positive all round. Hopefully still on track market cap. wise for the FTSE All Share next month. | truffle
24/11/2009 10:26 | No probs ukinvestor. Up we go again. | rivaldo
20/11/2009 10:41 | thanks for all your info and updates rivaldo :) | ukinvestor220
18/11/2009 19:02 | Looks like Invesco have been top-slicing, as well as some directors exercising options etc. The price solidity has therefore been very encouraging. | rivaldo
16/11/2009 19:29 | Truffle, I'm not great on the All-Share requirements. MCGN's m/cap is in the header here at £80m. Per this it seems that MCGN are due to be promoted to the FTSE Small Cap index in the next review on 9th December, so maybe its liquidity is fine for these purposes? Greenroom78, thx, much appreciated. | rivaldo
14/11/2009 10:30 | Didn't think MCGN was anywhere near a sufficient market cap. for possible entry into the FTSE All share. What's the entry cap. and the current cap. of MCGN, anyone know? | truffle
14/11/2009 09:44 | I bought a few in here yesterday after watching the recent rises without funds to buy. Still looks good for further rises and a nice divi due in time for xmas. Just wanted to say thanks Rivaldo, you made my research easier - keep up the good work. | greenroom78
14/11/2009 07:26 | Aberforth top-sliced their holding yesterday by 535k shares to a mere 19.8%. Can't really blame them at that level of holding. The more interesting slant is that it's great to see large chunks of shares changing hands at these prices without the price being affected, which augurs well. | rivaldo
13/11/2009 12:28 | Interesting from FT Alphaville just now - a FTSE All-Share entry would be a real bonus and set light to the share price. Let's hope this guy has got his calculations wrong (the same applies to my holding in CAR too!): "The next FTSE Quarterly Review of UK Indices is due to take place on Wednesday 9 December (based on the previous day's closing prices), with changes to take effect after Friday 18 December. The attached file provides an estimate of potential changes based on current market caps. For clarification, for a company to be promoted to the All Share at this review, it has to have passed the relevant liquidity tests at the last Annual Review in December 2008. Below are a number of companies which would appear near the top of our list on market cap grounds, however we believe they have failed the liquidity tests, and as such are not inlcuded on our list. 12/11/2009 19:00 | Interesting article about whether technology could/should have averted the banking crisis. MCGN's COO David Sheriff is a contributor - I wonder whose "new systems" he's recommending should be implemented :o)) Extract: "Microgen chief operating officer David Sherriff said, "The technology was there to support established risk management procedures but there was also a heavy reliance on manual processes and spreadsheets. "Many commentators have come out to say that the technology should have performed better, but the business processes have to be in place first in order to then align technology." Sherriff said businesses cannot just implement a BI system and assume that all their problems are solved. "BI dashboards only produce the reports that they are requested to generate and many banks didn't know that the potential underlying problems existed, so they weren't looking to analyse them," he said. "BI tools often only flag up problems when it is too late the deal has been done. They are not a good preventative measure."" "Sherriff advised banks to implement a system that will integrate finance, risk and liquidity management to create a single standardised view of all their data. "With the new systems they need to be able to pull together reports at a moment's notice with full details of transactions and balance sheet as well as simulate 'what if' scenarios," said Sherriff." "On the issue of whether a system can be put in place to give financial watchdogs insight into the relationship banks have with each other, Sherriff said this will require banks to expose their tracking activity, which will be a difficult task considering they are in competition." | rivaldo
11/11/2009 12:36 | :o)) Another 235,000 shares just gone through, at 93.5p... | rivaldo
11/11/2009 09:40 | Nice quite BB to - no daytraders to mess it up! ; ) | darola
11/11/2009 09:27 | Nice and slowly does it. More new highs. | rivaldo |
