21/8/2007 15:45 | shorts closing | seagreen
21/8/2007 13:17 | I think you will find if the ftse carries on up these shorts will unwind faster than you can say Evil Knieval also gets a lot of trades wrong, they do not have assets they are a cash generation machine and operate globally in Asia as well they do not pay very high nase salaries and the team is very bonus orientated. It is very easy to unravel staff should there be a proper meltdown, which whilst remains unlikely, I agree would maybe put a tricky 2 or 3 month trading period int ehir way but as they have easily exceeded expectations for 6 months I would still expect their year end figures to justify this share price and the rest... not least as they have a bahrain office and many Asian/PAc offices in Tokyo, Singapore, Hong Kong, Oz...indeed it would not surprise me to see them have one in chian...the otehr thing evil should remember is that they are no way dependent on the financial sector like Robert Walters are as they cover all industries and all countries.......... Iwould think a oprice of £5 is underpinned by the expected year end results at least............ | seagreen
21/8/2007 11:27 | Think you will find him shorting asset rich companies because they're not generating any cash. The market's pretty poor atm - and the chart doesn't look too good. Probably better reasons to be short. | rochdae
21/8/2007 11:16 | I think his thesis is that if MPIs only real asset is its profit level then it is very sensitive to the economic cycle turning and thus its movement down will be magnified. | james93

05/6/2007 17:00 | Thanks for that Boozey1.Pleased to know someone is out there. | veg man
05/6/2007 15:22 | Veg man, Am not in MPI currently but was in Robert Walters (RWA) who are in the same sector until recently. Both companies are on a pretty high multiple which means there is very little room for disappointment. If you have made reasonable money on these having been in them for a while, as I had, now would be the time to take some profit. In short, in my view, upside potential is less than the downside risk, but what do i know. Plenty of other more fair value plays in the market. | boozey1
05/6/2007 14:57 | Why the massive fall in the shares today.Any ideas. | veg man |
