ebiz: we keep bumping into each other!

This one caught my eye too. I'm also looking at cksn, however not as confident on that one.

To Ebiz,
Sorry, my comment (now out of date it appears) mentioned a comparison with tech stocks. Thanks for the info. I feel 1.25 is about a buy back price assuming clear windscreen on next 12 months, which at present is not really there. Regards

Compared with the valuations on some tech stocks, I don't feel 2.75 is anything but modest. May I believe for 3.00 by Sept 1.

Good advice from your broker pity it wasn't Friday!(when it dropped to 215p mid session). Still a relatively cheap share and I think the float will be looked upon as a turning point. It was pitched at the right price - no greed in the market is a good thing - there was respectful fear by lowering the price but insufficient fear to pull it. Maybe other IPOs will follow now - with sensible valuations. Last Minute signalled the height of greed, I believe Michael Page has restored sanity and balance.

Now hoping for (and expecting 2.75). Or am I being too greedy?

I’m impressed, I really didn’t think that MPI would perform in this market. After a shaky start things really seem to be on the up. Was good to note that Q1 results were good. I haven’t brought yet and won’t until the contractor market starts to improve. I don’t think that the latest round of job cuts will show until Q2 results. They are on my watch list and am keeping an interest in the mean time. It would be nice to get some of the 25%+ commission back.

I am afraid that I must agree. I am involved with this sector on a daily basis and see recruitment companies all around me suffering. This is clearly a growing trend and caution is the name of the game today.

Bundmar - Wouldn’t one of the first sectors to feel the pinch of a recession or downturn in the markets be that of recruitment companies?

Fair call - MPI are a good company they have placed me in jobs for the last couple of years (yes I am a contractor) and they have all been good positions within growing companies. Thing is I feel that the contracting market has dried up a bit, hence looking at extending my current contract rather than moving on. This is why I am a little cautious about investing in this sector. I don’t think that the profit warnings have hit in yet. Note in the Sunday times that 20,000 city staff to get axed, 10,000 of them contractors. I think that this is going to hit the likes of MPI hard. Sorry Bundmar don’t mean to sound like a deramper but it is a sector that I am involved in and I feel as though it’s a little sick at the moment.

Sacko - your right, but this has ben priced at the lower end of the market, and today theres lots of demand, a good sign in a falling market, currently up 4%, im anticipating some good increases over the next few weeks.
