12/11/2020 08:15 | Ukuu I don't about USABLE amounts of PGM. Because of radioactive isotope contamination much of the recovered PGM is forbidden for use in industrial applications. For example 20-25 years of storage after separation is required for rhodium and ruthenium to get the radioactive level down to a usable limit. I suspect the same is true for all the recovered materials and often the 'recoverability' factor is used as a positive by the nuclear industry without mentioning the caveats, whereas in facts for 20-25 its nuclear waste. | harrisun

05/11/2020 11:37 | A particularly well written article, I thought. Thanks. MNRG has lifted a touch this morning. Aaah .... a bit more than just a touch of a few mins ago, the lowest ASK on chow is now 0.85p and even small are an upward driver. f | fillipe

28/10/2020 15:36 | Yes true ex. In the back of my mind titanium and molybdenum are also high melting point. | ekuuleus
28/10/2020 11:24 | PGMs have high melting points so are ideal for high temperature thermocouples. | excellance
28/10/2020 11:18 | I think any 2 metals can make a thermo couple but I'll take your word on pgms for thermocouple | ekuuleus
28/10/2020 11:16 | Usable amounts of pgms are produced in a nuclear reactor and the nuclear physics can be tweaked to further the percent. Usable, but small in the scheme of things and they need time 'cooling ' | ekuuleus
28/10/2020 11:12 | PGMs are used in thermocouples. | excellance |
