14/11/2013 12:58 | FYI...taken from the FIN thread... City AM: Investors back Infinis towards middle of range November 14, 2013, 1:29am ADVISERS to Infinis, the renewable energy group owned by Guy Hands' Terra Firma, were yesterday said to be guiding potential investors to the mid-point in the price range for the group's forthcoming flotation. As the closing date arrived for the retail offer, it looked as if the shares will be priced at no more than 285p each, giving the stock a 6.5 per cent yield for income hungry investors. There was still a possibility the shares could be priced even lower when the offer closes for the institutional investors later today. Terra Firma is reducing its stake in the group, which owns 147 power generating plants in the UK, to around 65 per cent as part of the transaction. Retail investors are expected to take around 15 per cent of the offer, even though Infinis is not a widely known name. Barclays, one of the lead banks on the issue, has been effectively encouraging retail alongside Solid Solutions, in a number of new issues including Direct Line and Royal Mail. "Infinis offers decent growth prospects as well as income," Jim Dolan, retail broking director at Beaufort Securities said yesterday. "My feeling is that this one will be priced to get away," he added. | enewman36

13/11/2013 19:34 | There has not been much comment on Infinis during the last few days, but this is the latest: "Bankers on Infinis Energy's 372m IPO said on Tuesday night that the deal was fully covered within the range, ahead of the close of books on Thursday evening." www.euroweek.com/Art | exotic

13/11/2013 17:05 | Missed though wouldn't have noticed (as RNS came out at 8-35 for some reason) - thought it was to tomorrow that the IPO happened. Still happy to hold for a while as should get into ftse 250 next month on this market cap | davr0s
13/11/2013 15:55 | GLA. I know its a good company, just not my usual focus, and I need to put my principal back where I got it from! :) | onething
13/11/2013 15:45 | Looking at the share price action of many other floats during the year they typically peak around 4-6 weeks after floating so I am not overly bothered by a few pence on a day when the market is well down. | salpara111
13/11/2013 14:36 | I guess things might improve when it officially gets into the FTSE250 in mid-Dec (when they do the quarterly review) and the relevant trackers have to buy. However, I guess that many mananged funds have already bought knowing that 10% is not much of a premium and better to get in now rather later when there could be a bit of a squeeze. Si I think I will hang on until then and see what happens and might just take the profits for Xmas. If it did improve dramatically approx another 15% then of course we could be looking at FTSE100 automatic entry but that would need the company to be valued at £4B - but its possible. See below for relevant info | yesrupnel
13/11/2013 14:23 | I'm out too, I was aiming at 20% but 9% is better than a loss. Was expecting a dramatic rise today but doesn't look like it's going any higher. GLA | the oyster
13/11/2013 13:14 | Well that's me out. Stopped at 144.5. Happy with that. 9,2%. | onething

13/11/2013 10:58 | I thought JR was over subscribed. | gruss
13/11/2013 10:18 | Well, Just Retirement JRG came to market yesterday and is currently trading at 195 Vs the offer price of 225 so an instant loss of 13%.....IPOs are not guaranteed money makers! The private equity boys are very good at extracting most of the value before they float, the question is then.....is there any left for me? | salpara111
12/11/2013 20:35 | There is one! under the epic (a guess) FIN | mozy123
12/11/2013 20:26 | Would someone kindly start an Infinis thread. | onething
12/11/2013 18:50 | I am going for Infinys -decent dividend and the market seems receptive to IPOs at moment. I was cautious about Merlin (given the debt) but decided in the end to go for it and more optimistic about Infinis. If it only works out as a scratch trade the so be it but am hoping for a reasonable premium at the outset | davr0s
12/11/2013 17:54 | I have been looking for info on the Infinis float and have struggled to find any decent commentary...not sure if I will go for some but I guess I have little time to decide! | salpara111
12/11/2013 16:19 | Wyle - I don't know for a fact that they are sells but if the "trades" data is not representative of the days activity then ADVFN had best stop charging for it. I can make up a list everyday and charge for it if anybody interested in subscribing? There are always Late trades (always big and deliberately concealed) but the streaming data must be a fair snapshot wouldn't you think? | cotton886
12/11/2013 16:08 | re Infinis IPO - news surprisingly quiet on this one, so very hard to gage if it is over-subscribed... | samuel pepys2
12/11/2013 15:44 | I am in for the IPO and am in two minds as to whether I should take the 10% gain or run it for a while. I know the company by association (and a few of its senior members socially) and you have to credit them with growing an impressive business, with a long standing core team. My main worry is the low free float and the question over when any of the three large shareholders may think their money could be better used elsewhere. On balance I think there is plenty of growth to come, certainly over the next couple of years. Just may be too risky for me just now. Just my own thoughts and not intended as advice in any way. Posted to invite other's views, as this board has been less than quiet! | onething |
