14/8/2007 10:20 | Some interesting large trades taken place today and yesterday. All down as 'sells ' or '?'Looking at the prices, the times (especially yesterday) and the share price reaction ,I would think that most (if not all) were buys. Makes me think news coming up or someone accumulating . Time will tell!! | foxking
13/8/2007 16:47 | man took a big hit on friday, I would not be surprised if they sold some stock to make up some cash, should have got some back today, ready for the next wave | eagle eye3
13/8/2007 10:47 | Man Group Hedge Fund share price taken a big hit.Do not know what, if any impact on Marchpole As I've mentioned before, I doubt very much that Man have a beneficial interest in MPH. I'd have thought MPH is far too small for Man to bother with in their hedge funds. Man do, however, provide services to most CFD and spreadbetting firms. It seems more likely to me that Man's position simply represents an aggregate of positions of PI holders holding via SBs or CFDs. For example, I know of an individual PI who held a few % of a listed company via an SB (for tax purposes). This appeared as a Man holding. HTH, Mark | marben100

11/8/2007 00:24 | xd date: 15th August (next Wednesday) No known change to MAN's holding since Feb. | marben100
10/8/2007 22:42 | wbj, Only joking earlier. I have never liked holding shares where MAN take a holding. Always seems to bring me bad luck. In February they held 4.71% of Marchpole. MAN seem to be in a bit of a problem, see graph from the end of June. now look at anyone see the same pattern . Anyone know what percentage of MPH, MAN now hold. Regards Vixen buying shortly as well, silly not to imho. | daverw
10/8/2007 22:32 | Marben100 thanks for your input............... | wbjunior
10/8/2007 22:13 | Can anyone let me know when this goes ex divi please? Oh and I have been buying back in over the last week. Great op! | vixen
10/8/2007 20:53 | Ok People, Rather than trying to read between the lines of the interim statement (quarterly reporting is now a requirement for stocks with a full LSE listing), I called Marchpole, with two questions: Q1. When you say "the Group is well placed to withstand the termination of the YSL licence", do you mean the Group is not going under or that you expect profitability to be maintained, despite the loss of YSL? A1. "The latter" Q2. Do you still expect to meet Hardman's latest forecast? A2. If we did not expect to at least meet the forecast we would have to inform the market. That's good enough for me. I added yesterday (have never sold any since my original purchases in late 05/early 06) and may add more if the price falls much further. On Hardman's 11th July forecast, we're now on a current year P/E of 6.6. Regards, Mark | marben100
10/8/2007 20:13 | polzeath....bargain pick up time will be September imo, some may rally before then, but remember most of the journo's, institutions, city peeps aren't fully loaded back until then, so volume will be thin. | deanroberthunt
10/8/2007 19:45 | I'm hoping for a bit of a rally next week or at least standstill then rally in a few weeks' time. A lot of oversold stocks should come back a bit so no point selling now. | polzeath
10/8/2007 19:41 | polzeath...back to 110p here is a strong possibility, never thought it when it looked strong at 190p. | deanroberthunt
10/8/2007 19:12 | MPH should bottom out sometime soon, the bad news is already known. 110p the obvious support level, given loss of YSL not sure whether that's relevant. I'd have thought the uncertainty surrounding market and MPH trading means you could go down a bit further but come up again when data on trading demonstrates you're worth (say) 8-10x earnings. Can't see you going much below 100p but (negative) 60p at worst. Good luck holders. | polzeath
10/8/2007 15:12 | daverw no intention of selling, I had the question asked of me and I think I gave the right answer. Small holders had enough and going with a small profit and who can blame them after the last few years, takes nerves of steel holding long imho Bargain buying opportunity once again............... | wbjunior
10/8/2007 15:07 | WBJ, I dont like the idea of you even thinking about such things.(SELLING) Upset at this end as well and whats worse I dont understand it. I honestly thought £2 plus was going to be the future. There's not even been rafts of sells although I appreciate the drip drip daily sells have had their effect. Our day will surely come enjoy the grandchildren, looking after mine next week. Regards | daverw
10/8/2007 13:44 | Am i right in assuming that if you sale the shares in mph after the 17th of august you still receive the dividend payable on the 14th sept? thanks...........wbj | wbjunior |
