Our system posted a HOLD today. The previous BUY recommendation was made on 14.11.2007 (5) days ago, when the stock price was 97.5000. Since then MPH has fallen -33.33% .

A Warning is in order! The previous BUY signal failed. Downward momentum now reached to intolerable levels.

You can either wait for a new bullish alert or sell the stock immediately. It is up to you. We owe you an apology.

You can play the short side assuming all risk if you want to. Our stance, however, is currently neutral in this matter.

Today a Long Black Candlestick was formed. This shows that the prices declined significantly from open to close during the day under strong selling pressure.

Well done WBJ for getting out. I got out this morn and then made back some of the loss shorting.

Look for new opportunities not trying to guess when this will bottom. It's unlikely to go higher unless there is really good news, which based on todays announcement will be some time away.

Buy into positives - consider Zetar (ZTR)

will definately drop further and thats guaranteed - just look at the markets - too volatile and that will influence the decline.
rather than wanting to re enter forget it, and don't bother is the advice - buy premium bonds with what you have and check after a year and at least you won't have lost anymore or spend it on something else more rewarding - have a takeaway - yes its the little things that give you more fun.

down to 13p in old money, market cap down to 17.7 mil,
projected turnover without YSL 70mil, I appreciate that profit is going to get knocked with the aggressive expansion they have undertaken, but I don't think todays news warranted a 34% drop!

Cohen's Call

Abby Joseph Cohen, the chief investment strategist at Goldman, said in an investment outlook this month that the weakness in housing will be offset by increased earnings at companies that sell technology and industrial equipment outside the U.S. Cohen forecasts the S&P 500 will reach 1,600 by year- end, an 11 percent gain from its current level. Cohen was not immediately available for comment today.

so glad i actioned a s/l last night and got away with only a small loss, however these results were completly not what i expected and feel the messages coming from
management have been somewhat misleading!

A poor day all round but we must look for bargains elsewhere as the bounce will come....

My gamble in Marchpole failed miserably. As I said at the time it was a complete gamble and something I hardly ever do and now I remember why. They produced a horrible statement and that confirms why the price had fallen so much. However I did do the right thing and got onto my broker at 8am to get rid. I thought I would be lucky and get out at the advertised 92p. Unlucky for me I missed that (or the broker did) and all he could get me was 85p to bank a loss of £520. Just as well I did as it's since slumped to 65p (where it's beginning to look good value!). Anyway I consider I just blew £500 on a horse that trailed in last. And it reminds me why I shouldn't put money into companies where there are negatives and question marks.

Just a further thought... if MM did wish to take it private, he'd still have to raise significant cash to buy the 80% he doesn't own. Strikes me that that'd be difficult in the current climate (unless he has wealthy chums prepared to back him).
