15/11/2007 20:59 | So make the bear case, with evidence then! Not made up stuff about FDs, designers etc like some have tried to. Seems some are working on the principle no news = bad news. NT followers are 1K buyers (seen here before) not 10k buyers and there were very few of them given his large caveat. Perhaps 20k of the 2-300k buys the last 2 days. | momentos
15/11/2007 20:10 | Not at all comforted by the Bulls on this forum. Seems to me that the recent financial support of the share price has come from retail followers of Naked Trader and that support has failed to boost the price. | 0o0
15/11/2007 18:54 | lol. Thats interesting, suitably cynical reasoning eagle eye. I expect Mr Morris would like to release results Monday and bathe in the glory of his newly created post-YSL empire on Tuesday! BTW there was a late 50k at 98.5 (16:39). Be interesting to see if CFEP are still around in the AM. | momentos
15/11/2007 18:30 | re results..... I am not expectig bad news on monday, with the egm on tuesday, if the results were after the egm then I would think otherwise. | eagle eye3
15/11/2007 18:20 | unless there is some bad news to come out, the seller is probably in trouble elsewhere, I can see no reason to be a seller at this price with the interim's comming next week..... time will tell... | eagle eye3
15/11/2007 17:40 | Re Cantor's - my guess is that, as you say, they have a large order with the MMs but, in addition they're putting some on the offer, just in case someone wants to deal direct. If someone decides they'd like to pick up some stock in volume, they can see Cantor's offer and just bid for it direct - or they could give Cantor's a ring, seeing the flag in the order book, and do a deal off-market, saving MM spread for both sides. | ![]() marben100
15/11/2007 17:36 | I still think that the share buy back that we had at the end of August was a signal that MPH had become debt free, as MM is unlikely to have used borrowed money to buy back shares. IMHO. | ![]() dan de lion
15/11/2007 15:52 | Knew about the closed period, not the possible TP arrangements... (btw my point really was they can do this from Monday) Irrespective of Cantors 15k wodge, presumably it is them slipping through the vast majority of ordinary sells anyway, or feeding the MMs as and when required. Why bother with the direct to market bit? TO let the MMs know where they are at? | momentos
15/11/2007 15:00 | Momentos, Apologies if I'm teaching you to suck eggs here but, irrespective of the AGM authority, companies are not allowed to trade in their own shares whilst in possession of price sensitive information not in the public domain. That applies during a closed period. Some FTSE companies nominate a third party to continue a buyback programme on their behalf during closed periods but that's a strict "arms length" arrangement and is notified to the market before the start of the closed period. Regards, Mark PS just had the 3pm intraday auction: no one buying Cantor's wodge, which remains in the order book. | ![]() marben100
15/11/2007 14:40 | FOr anyone (like me) confused by the new fangled trading codes (we had an NT - Negotiated Trade yesterday) the LSE site gives further detail. For info an OK trade stands for "Alright, I've finished selling now" | momentos
15/11/2007 14:34 | F me tick up! British Bulls may just about avoid selling straight away... | momentos
15/11/2007 14:20 | They have an authority, renewed last AGM: That the Company be and is generally and unconditionally authorised to make market purchases (as defined for the purposes of Section 163(3) of the Companies Act 1985 of any of its ordinary shares in such manner and on such terms as the Directors may from time to time determine, provided that: (a) the maximum number of ordinary shares hereby authorised to be purchased is 2,670,291; (b) the minimum price which may be paid for an ordinary share is 5 pence; (c) the maximum price which may be paid for an ordinary share is an amount (exclusive of expenses) equal to 105% of the average of the middle market quotations for an ordinary share as derived from the Stock Exchange Daily Official List for each five business days immediately preceding the date on which the ordinary share is purchased; (d) unless previously revoked, varied or renewed this authority shall expire at the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting of the Company to be held in 2008; and (e) the Company may make a contract to purchase ordinary shares under this authority before the expiry of such authority which will or may be executed wholly or partly after the expiry of such authority, and may make a purchase of ordinary shares pursuant to any such contract as if the said authority had not expired. | momentos
15/11/2007 14:15 | momentos I had mail from them stating they could not buy back during the closed period and would be possibly buying back shares after the results !!!!! | jamesjoel
15/11/2007 14:07 | Doncha wish they would just p... off and blight some other share! Hopefully, as stated by JamesJoel, there will be some buybacks to clear Cantors out. the company should have the dosh. They have also stated their intention to do so previously. Another reason to buy - if that happens we should get a nice whoosh upwards... | momentos
15/11/2007 13:44 | Cantor's offering 15K @ 100p. No uncrossing trade this am. | ![]() marben100
15/11/2007 13:43 | thanks momentos | jimelson
15/11/2007 13:42 | This company seems dirt cheap and i remember missing out when they were 12p. Now they are again down (not that cheap) and looking a bargin, with only the one worry. Other than that from what they have said, integrations have gone well, directors have been buying, so someones confident. Guess i got till tomorrow to decide. | jimelson
15/11/2007 13:37 | No. See here for a trawl through some of the statements: | momentos
15/11/2007 13:34 | And wasnt Moda meant to be the main replacement for the YSL licence? The retail environment in North America continues to be difficult and sales by Moda America are lower than for the same 13 week period last year. On the positive side margins have improved as a result of Marchpole's sourcing capabilities. | jimelson
15/11/2007 13:27 | Marchpole Holdings PLC 08 Aug Interim Management Statement "For the purposes of this statement it is meaningless to draw comparisons with the same period last year because of the changes in the composition of the Group, notably the end of the YSL licence and the acquisitions of Homebody and Greenmark." isnt that comment a bit worrying amoungst others? | jimelson

15/11/2007 11:33 | Like ddl said it has given everyone the chance to pick mph up at an unbelievable mark down in relation to the intrinsic value of the company. Treading water until the interims on Monday by the look of it, no worries holding firm................ Ps Off until Monday morning, happy days everyone | wbjunior
15/11/2007 11:32 | MOMENTOS Definately will be share buy backs after results !!!!!!!! | jamesjoel
15/11/2007 10:55 | I suppose if wbj's rumour is true, the good thing is next week Mr Morris is out of the "closed period". And sitting on a nice fat bonus of 600K plus, net of tax. So if someone is supposedly trying to "punish" him for the big bonus, he can of course use his spare 600k to pick up some more share on the cheap. Some punishment: Here, have a bigger share of your company on the cheap.... I am sure he will feel suitably chastised. | momentos
