19/11/2007 13:22 | Hi Nardelli, mark how is your fair value now ? [I presume this question was addressed to me] Can't really put a figure on it, at least until we see the finals. Many have (understandbly) lost faith in MM. Given that, a P/E of 7 seems more reasonable than my previous view. The question is, what's the "E"? If it's 15p for the year, which the interims suggest is reasonable, then that makes the fair value 105p. Of course, if MPH does deliver an EPS of 15p+ and has a positive outlook for FY09 then some confidence in MM and the board would be restored, so that, in turn, might justify a higher rating. Hence any attempt at assessing a fair value now is very much a gamble on the results. The Bloomberg interview is very disturbing. Seems to contradict the interims. Saying "The results are slightly lower than expected" is shocking. They're not "slightly" but MUCH lower than I and, I suspect, most reasonable investors were expecting. Moreover, whereas the interims say "we expect that the results for the year as a whole will be slightly lower than anticipated", in the interview MM says: "The full-year results will be below our original expectations." That "slightly" seems to have gone missing. And if "slightly" actually means "massively", where does that leave us? Investing in this, at the moment, seems like a gamble. However, the price is now so low that I'm inclined to hang on to my modest remaining holding and see what happens. I wouldn't rule out the "take it private on the cheap" theory either. MM has had a go at that once before, hasn't he? Regards, Mark | ![]() marben100

19/11/2007 12:12 | ``These results are slightly lower than expected,'' Deputy Chairman Michael Morris said in a telephone interview. ``The full-year results will be below our original expectations.'' Income that had been anticipated at the end of the current fiscal year is now expected early next year, Morris said, declining to give figures. Watch out for that "our expectations" again (NOT MARKET EXPECTATIONS). | momentos
19/11/2007 12:11 | momentos they seem to be funding the expansion in house, they do not have large borrowings, you may be right, but we should see how much the buget is for it, before you jump to conclusions, advertising, leases, refurbising, in moscow and tokyo do not come cheap........ divi maintained and expanding t/o 70m | nardelli
19/11/2007 12:04 | Based on past experience with this share, it is a possible scenario that the Co have purposefully pulled the figures down to cause the shareprice drop. Next move is for MM to make a move to take the Co. private and offer shareholders some derisory amount. Mayhem will ensue in which you can bet the shareholders will be the end-losers, (as usual). Would explain the un-expectedly bad results and also the absence of a solid Finance Director. As anyone knows who has been a long term holder, MM is not to be trusted! Bill | billbarton
19/11/2007 12:03 | The fun will be when you try to sell them. NMS 3000. | momentos |
