19/3/2002 20:55 | If I buy some shares in this company will my family get our old fridge/freezer taken away for free? P.S It looks like this share is going down. | scratchnsniff
13/3/2002 08:02 | So it was -sorry! no wonder I lose money! Time for a trip to an optician. | al1
12/3/2002 22:31 | it was a cross trade, not a sell | aghumra

26/2/2002 10:04 | anyone know why this is going down, i'd have thaught the eu directive coming into force soon would have got people fighting for the shares | distill
22/2/2002 15:46 | It they have put in a tender to satisfy the new legistaion on fridges, and they win a contract, then they could be looking at needing funds to purchase the required equipment. If this did happen i would view it as very good, as returns on the investment would be very quick in following. | games
22/2/2002 13:19 | I think we'll need some news to help that. "The company said exciting prospects are certain to arise from the new environmental developments while mergers and acquisitions which may be made possible by the flotation of the possibility of looking at expanding into other recycling fields." The above quote from the RNS after results: Do you think this is MRG making acquistions (where would funding come from) or MRG being bought? | aghumra
22/2/2002 13:06 | I'm pleased tosee the buys are still trickling through. Would also like to see the price take a step upwards. | al1
21/2/2002 10:29 | Quite a sizable trade just gone through, well over nms, this may have been the reason for the pullback yesterday, if so a few buys should tick the price up. | games
21/2/2002 00:03 | Up a touch more. | games
20/2/2002 16:22 | Guy....It is already illegal to dump fridges in Landfill sites, and the problem at the moment is that they are pilling up in great numbers at various places around the country, the plan is for mobile units that can dispose of these items to visit these places on a regular basis. The euqipment for this is not cheap (i think i saw a figure of £1/4) but the revenue will cartainly be good looking at the number of fridges dumped each yr. | games
20/2/2002 16:10 | Only just found this board - saw working lunch and managed to get some shares earlier in the week - will probably hang on to see what happens in the next few days. These could be a good long term hold IMO. It was interesting that the CEO mentioned fridge recycling. I've been looking into this - looked at Shanks and Waste Recycling. I may be wrong but I got the impression that companies like WRC are contracted by local councils etc to manage the waste collection/disposal at council sites etc. If EC directives suddenly make it illegal to dump fridges or flourescent tubes in landfill, the problem then initially falls on the the contractors rather than councils as to how to dispose of them. Perhaps they will need to wait for contract renewal before they can start to charge the local councils. Thing is, how will this affect initiatives to set up fridge/flourescent tube recycling by these companies? Will they go in house or outsource to the likes of MRG? Will they let these things pile up somewhere for a while or bite the bullet and pay someone to take them away. Anyone got any thoughts or seem any growing piles of old fridges etc? | guy martin
20/2/2002 15:02 | That is interesting. Thank you very much. Should I ever be brave enough to trade that high above NMS I'll remember that. | al1
20/2/2002 14:55 | 50k is well over NMS, so MM is not obliged to quote the offer, he can quote any price. So, if the buyer is stupid enough to accept then the trade goes through... | aghumra
20/2/2002 14:37 | Excuse my ignorance, but how did that 13p trade happen? | al1
20/2/2002 14:28 | MT...Check the trades on the 14th Feb....It looks like the mm's trashed the price..Maybe they had to much on their books, but it looks to me as though they were caught out earlier today, and i would expect them to play around with price to fill the buy orders....Although i bet the creeps are laughing at that 13p trade. | games
20/2/2002 14:23 | I see u like the conspiracy theories in here. About Time!! Great stock for the future as "Green" companies and consumer sentiment increasingly focuses towards the environmental impact of their actions. | mike_c
20/2/2002 14:20 | 13p buy, someone got well & truly kippered! | aghumra
20/2/2002 14:16 | LONDON (AFX) - Mercury Recycling Group PLC said it was informed on Feb 15 that chief executive Simon Lebor bought 250,000 shares in the company at a price of 5.75 pence per share on that date. Lebor is now interested in 4,131,901 ordinary shares representing approximately 14.96 pct the entire issued ordinary share capital, it added. lam ------------- What prompted the sharp lowering of the price on Feb 14? Sharpest ever % fall since floatation. Artificially lowered to permit cheap purchase? Surely not! | m.t.glass
20/2/2002 14:13 | MT....Like u say it may look inefficient, but if the work is there and it pays now, then when the law does kick in they are well positioned, fair enough others will then want a slice of the mkt, but like the chap said they only floated last yr, so the plan to expand looks to have already being put in place. Also it was only a few wks ago when i looked at the problems with dumping fridges, the revenue expected on recycling these will certainly not be small, though the equipment is not cheap. | games
20/2/2002 14:06 | delayed trades coming through now, be interesting to see how much interest Working Lunch drummed up... | aghumra |
