28/5/2004 07:24 | Being ramped on a spivvy site..explains the late buy on Tuesday and pre-market buy yesterday though......just before the tip.. | argy2
27/5/2004 16:04 | looks like an interesting company any views? | bullandbear
27/5/2004 15:22 | started to slide a bit already. i guess it will give up the gains over the next few days. then may be time to get in. i wouldn't be at all surprised if there are a few traders who will sell now and buy back in next week | 0238jr
27/5/2004 13:09 | Agree. sub 15p 1-2 years and get out when the big multinational competition arrives. | majic
27/5/2004 11:59 | looks like a sharp spike on very thin volume- only about £75k in cash traded so far i would guess it will drift back down again after these rises, on ever thinner volume, as people get bored and take profits. probably worth buying for the long term at about 15p | 0238jr
27/5/2004 11:48 | Surprised that no one is here on this BB today. Share price up to 2nd in the fastest movers today. Although cap at 5.25m profits were very thin last time around and turnover is a fifth of capitalisation. Is it just a rising blip, on a reccomendation and are they now standing on a hot air rating? | guru11
01/4/2004 12:04 | Back down it goes. | justjim37
31/3/2004 21:42 | 130k trade at 14.75p. Looks like it went thru at mid but could it be a buy, hence the 17% rise today?? Maybe some contract news coming?? Who knows!!! Thanks, ST. | shortermer1
31/3/2004 17:03 | Am holding this. Anyone know why the 17.6% rise today? | justjim37
31/3/2004 16:46 | Hmmm ... is that a chart breakout?? Thanks, ST. | shortermer1
08/3/2004 12:15 | cannot feel the rise is going to be short lived due to no volumes and price increases... lets see what happens. | bullandbear
05/3/2004 13:14 | This is big volume for Mercury! Didn't expect to be back so close to the resistance level so soon to be honest. Some weekend coverage would really help things along!! Any financial journalists out there? | icetrader
05/3/2004 10:59 | Agree that a news article of some kind could make quite a difference here. Given current market trends there could be small but steady buying up to results but have to wait and see. Decent figures in May could see a 15-18 price range established. All imho dyor etc Bant | bantam175
02/3/2004 18:12 | BullandBear- in answer to your question. The aspect that caught my eye about this niche company is obviously the environmental story. Since as a society we are becoming more aware and legislation is restricting more and more what can be thrown away. Fluorescent tubes are now a headache for local authorities since they contain mercury, so you cant go dumping them at your local tip. Merc. Recycling have I understand one of the few plants in the country that literally extracts the mercury from the tube debris. The very few number of players in this field is what attracted me ie. little competition. I understand that there may be some further restrictive European legislation due this Summer? Its a bit like the fridge mountain problem. Once someone gets the space and machinery to deal with it I would think Local Authorities would pay hansomely to clear up the problem. Same thinking about the number of used tubes in the country? If you checkout the ADVFN fundamental page the NAV per share is 10.4p so there is some security there. Finally the chart. Well not a lot of action there. previous high around13p been in a downtrend for a few months until about yesterday , funnily enough!! The big problem is exposure and media hype of this stock, which is pitiful. The support seems to be around 10p but until someone runs some coverage with this stock then it could be a long time till it bounces back towards 13p and it will need some positive news to push it through the resistance at that level. IMHO DYOR. Hope that helps. | icetrader
27/2/2004 12:58 | Results out in May last year. | bantam175

16/2/2004 10:34 | Results should be out before long. Before then would seem a good time to top up. Anyone heard any dates? Bant | bantam175
08/12/2003 22:08 | Write up in the IC 5-11 December. Outlines that European legislation directive comes into effect next summer re disposal of fluorescent tubes. Rates the enlarged group (following acquisition of Simister) as well placed and "One to watch". Interesting. I wonder when will be a good time to buy in? | hickersp
11/10/2003 17:48 | hello Brian, fancy seeing you here | wild bill
12/9/2003 00:22 | Was soooo tempted by these at 10p yesterday am - wish now I had :-) G. | garth
11/9/2003 08:27 | LONDON (AFX) - Mercury Recycling Group PLC climbed out of losses in the first half to June 30 2003 to report an operating profit of 73,000 stg as sales growth in MRL, the only trading subsidiary, continues at a stronger pace. For the first half, turnover was 484,000 stg compared with 365,000 stg for the comparable six months, an increase of over 30 pct. The company also said that, as indicated at the year end, discussions with a number of companies with a view to merger or acquisitions have continued and other companies have also been identified that would enable the group to take advantage of the substantial growth taking place in the recycling field. The cash position improved again in the first half under review, with increased profits, and tight financial controls. Cash in the bank at end-June was 333,000 stg compared with 266,000 stg at the interim stage of last year, and 249,000 at the year end. The pretax loss for the first half was cut to 9,000 stg from 119,000 a year earlier. newsdesk@afxnews.com slm/ | waldron
