Jfinvestmints . That cheese was a big earner my friend . I'm not drunk . Mildly dyslexic but very bright :-). The grammar may make you think about m tiddly :-)

Houses folks you were talking property . Read the article please. Is that flat worth 390,000 or 500,000k ?
Neither because without the Tax bailouts demand would collapse and someone would be able to pay about 250,000 300,000k . If they had to do it on their earnings

Jamie Diamond has written a 60 odd page note.
It is basically saying how Bedriddens stimulus package will drive share prices for the next two years.
He does say inflation could go to 3/4 per cent ?. With Bedriddens woke Luvvies saying it will go to 2 per cent ?. Could mean it will actually hit 8 per cent ?
His great article just confirms my view.
Stimulus must continue for ever now . If money cannot be printed for ever ? . The collapse will and is going to be insane !

CTrader3 - you are correct in highlighting the importance of re-invested dividends over the long term.

Your graph, however, is based on a 20 year period ending in January 2015. The graph shows, without dividends, the FTSE100 grew from 3,500(ish) to 6,865. I'm wondering why you have chosen 20 year period that doesn't include either the 2016 EU referendum result or Covid. Both had negative effects on UK stocks.

If you go back 21 years from today the FTSE 100 is down over that period. On 31.12.99 the FTSE100 closed at 6,930. Today it closed at 6,885.

The FTSE100 has been an appalling investment for decades. I'm hoping for a change of fortune over the next couple of years.

Interesting thing about HFEL was they had a covered dividend of 7% last year In fact they actually added to reserves Not many trusts could say that

There's plenty of scope for the ftse to grow, it's only managed 34% in the past 22 years.

whilst MRCH has been a simple buy and hold HFEL hasn't
been as straight forward.

Thinking it might be time to take some money out of the S&P etf's I bought a year ago never thought they would be up this much so quick and its looking a bit like a bubble thing is not sure what will burst it while the fed keep supporting it.

Keeping these though also having a look at HFEL as I held them previously and they look cheap thanks for the heads up guys.

I'm not sure I buy into the 'value v growth' argument. For me a company is either good or bad.
