01/4/2021 14:08 | MRCH has been an excellent investment ok some ups and downs over the past year but a steady earner that’s what I require did manage to get my average down by buying considerably more at 360p . Like HFEL as covered dividend is no bad thing in today’s world and a 7% yield suits me. | wskill
01/4/2021 13:16 | I'm similar on HFEL. Fairly long(ish) term holder and currently looking at a capital loss of 5.4%. However, since my initial purchase I've received dividends equivalent to 13.5% of my overall investment. So currently sitting on an overall return of 8.1%. Annual yield to me is around 6.7%. As with most investments 'time-in' the market is probably as important as 'timing-the-market'! | zac0_4
01/4/2021 11:52 | yep agree, it's one of my thread portfolio shares under MRCH. current divi 23p on a buying price of 326p so yields around 7%. owned the share for a while so underwater on the buying price but nicely in profit when I include the dividends earned which are now earning more dividends as the cash has been re-invested in the portfolio. | ctrader3
01/4/2021 11:41 | ctrader3 - I'm also invested in HFEL for its dividend. I think it's current yield is around 7.25%. Pays quarterly, which is my preference, and has increased payout annually for a number of years. I don't think you'll get rich from any capital growth from it but currently all of my quarterly dividends from elsewhere are being invested in it. Not a recommendation simply some info. | zac0_4
01/4/2021 10:38 | Value and Index has morphed into a property only trust. | ctrader3
01/4/2021 10:31 | with the available reserves it's a given for the next few years. companies have used covid to take decisions they should have before, so that should feed thru to the bottom line, before the hike in Corporation Tax. a 7% yield returns your capital in fourteen years even if u spend the dividends. interest rates aren't meant to rise until 2024 according to the Fed, so dividend paying shares should retain their attraction. if u look at share trusts it getting more difficult every day to buy yield. | ctrader3
01/4/2021 10:23 | I must be honest and say that I've been pleasantly surprised with the share price recovery to date. Providing the dividend is maintained then I'm more than happy with the 7%+ yield I'm receiving. Fingers crossed as I don't think it's an absolute given! | zac0_4
01/4/2021 10:15 | u can now sell at 500p, if u wish. I've returned 45% of my investment, if the share price falls that figure will reduce. I've booked some 'profits' as my buying yield is 6.5% and the current yield is 5.4%. I can re-invest elsewhere at a higher yield and I've reduced my risk. The core holding I will retain and if/when Mr. Market gives me the chance to buyback based on the yield, I will. | ctrader3

23/3/2021 22:02 | Ctrader3 What is the total cost of a 40 year mortgage please . Not the 25 you have put . I take it you have no siblings or nephews and nieces ?. They are not getting 25 year mortgages anymore . They will still have some where to live if they can pay for 40 years . If they get divorced or loose there jobs in the 40 years they won't | superiorshares |
