Excellent NewsGKN Aerospace and GE Aerospace have significantly widened their long-term partnership with a new agreement that expands RRSP participation on the GEnx programme, the fastest-selling high-thrust engine. The new agreement also covers new technology insertion, aftermarket repair of high-volume engines structures, and production of fan cases for a range of GE engines.

Put MRO and DWL together and what has the demerger thrown up for the small shareholder so far — a lemon. They should have stuck to the strategy they committed to at the time of the GKN acquisition.

Closing in on a one month low.Makes you wonder what the reaction would of been if the results had been 'average'.For the greater part,my ISA portfolio comprises foreign listed securities nowadays.The UK market has become a backwater offering few companies with unquestioned growth.The LSE seems to nudge up and down as much in response to algorithmic trading as to any reasoned analysis.

Seems to happen with their statements.Too much self hype in the words about performance versus their own expectations and to much “adjusted̶1; or “normalised221; in the numbers — and in the cold light of the following day some adjustment of the initial reaction occurs. Also the distribution of institutional share ownership here doesn’t help and rather exposes the small shareholder to volatility.

All down to the news that a couple of MRO founders are stepping aside and the Aerospace division, which I thought would be offloaded and sold on for a big profit is being retained. The little uncertainty around the announcement has caused a bit of a dip, but I strongly believe the management are well equipped to make this a greater success. I'm holding and happy.

Good old Melrose, never disappoints. Very long term holder here, added over the years, now with a good number of shares. Only a matter of time before the directors do what they do best, that is to sell on the remaining GKN residuals for a healthy profit and provide a large slice of that to the shareholders. Dowlais next. Onwards and upwards.

That brightens the day. I bless the day I discovered Melrose. If ever a company demonstrated that it is the people rather than the business which counts, it is Melrose. Lets hope the new team are as good as those they replace. They have some big boots to step into.
