20/9/2022 13:23 | EI: I did sell then bought a few back. I guess if I sell the few I will be at break even on this stock. However gut feeling is, it will probably rise again at some point, so might as well leave it where it is and enjoy the ride back up. | netcurtains
20/9/2022 13:20 | EI, re the chip shortage. did you hear ford? they have 45k cars ready to ship but no semis for them. but then semis shares (and some of the ceos) are saying demand is either already weak or about to be. who is telling the truth here. re mro if you get a close below last few months recent lows then looks like gap fill to a pound favourite. if they dont bounce there it would be the covid lows then. i wouldnt expect any further than that. you need a 2 handle on the spx for that. | roguetraderuk
20/9/2022 13:04 | net, did you not sell any on the way up?, you must have been up 15-20%. | essentialinvestor
20/9/2022 12:51 | The good news is at some point it will be a great buy. | netcurtains
20/9/2022 12:23 | That looks a new 12 month low?. | essentialinvestor
20/9/2022 12:09 | With the recent MRO share trading volumes and price trend, unfortunately it looks like the major institutional holders are doing the “Wall Street Walk” in this stock. | 1justine
18/9/2022 17:54 | Against all that, one hopes there are some "leads and lags" and the Stock Market recovers long before the recession ends. But who knows? I guess if Ukraine takes Kherson and then a truce is agreed the markets might go barmy for a few days - if not weeks. | netcurtains
18/9/2022 17:32 | So firstly Melrose have to navigate COVID battering civil aerospace, just as that market begins to recover chip shortages seriously impact auto sector volumes and now we face recession in multiple industrialised countries. | essentialinvestor
16/9/2022 13:45 | Bought a very small amount under £1.10. | essentialinvestor
16/9/2022 12:23 | Ok folks thanks, I obvs misread the comment in the H1 report. | essentialinvestor
16/9/2022 12:17 | "The Company confirms that its share buyback programme, as announced on 8 June 2022, is now complete." 02/08/2022 RNS They bought about 318 million shares 500/318 = £1.57 which sounds about right. | darrin1471
16/9/2022 12:15 | EI, the buyback was up to 500m pounds. if you check the first and final amounts and multiply by the avg share price you get to 500mn sterling with fees inc. | roguetraderuk
16/9/2022 09:08 | MRO : DOWN 27% 1 Mth; Down 23% 3Mths; Down 36% 1Year; Down 46% 3 Years; Down 45% 5 Years. Looks like it's been "re-pricing" for a while. They have staff and advisers for Public relations, Press relations , Shareholder relations and a multitude of investment bankers yet they still manage to rattle the market with a half years' statement. Not good enough. | 1justine
16/9/2022 08:46 | dmf, if 107 goes it should fill the gap to just over a pound | roguetraderuk
16/9/2022 08:42 | EI, i replied yesterday evening. | roguetraderuk
16/9/2022 08:36 | Tempted to buy at sub 100p | dmf
15/9/2022 18:24 | rogue, any thoughts on Ray Dalio's comments, thanks. | essentialinvestor
15/9/2022 18:21 | taking a step back, the shares are where they were pre the aero day and buyback announcement. it seems the mkt frontran that and demanded a higher price for the shares, which have now deflated on the news of a spin off and not a sale. on the bright side, ford and gm are up today on the one of few bright elements in us retail sales. autos sales were up on loosening supply chain issues but i think it will be spring time before things pick up on the macro side, once they have officially (data wise) dipped. as we are still waiting for that in many cases. | roguetraderuk
15/9/2022 17:02 | Also a wider macro element to the recent share price decline as multiple economies either sharply slow or head towards recession. Their 2 main markets are cyclical. | essentialinvestor
15/9/2022 16:49 | 1justine, what exactly are you suggesting they should say, without coming across as defensive? I don’t think they should comment, they should just let the market settle down and re-price accordingly over time. Expecting them to comment on market reactions to their announcements is naive to say the least. | gettingrichslow
15/9/2022 14:45 | What people may be questioning is the future of the Melrose model and the amount paid for GKN. That be be unfair but it's how it looks. | essentialinvestor
15/9/2022 14:25 | So is that it? The hot shots at MRO put out a poorly received Statement that craters the share price and there has been no follow up communication through the press or other media to a shareholder base that has been incredibly loyal in recent years. Management and the Board, perhaps because of the wealth many of them have accumulated from MRO in years gone by, seem too complacent by half. Time for changes. Step up Institutional shareholders! | 1justine
15/9/2022 13:52 | darrin. lse volumes max during first and last hour. inbetween theres often little liquidity. i dont have dma for lse but you can tell if you do a bigger trade how the price gets whacked. | roguetraderuk
15/9/2022 13:48 | BOD members not adding, even down here. | essentialinvestor |
