21/5/2018 23:30 | MEANWHILE I don't think leather is getting's type of material. Offer it in carbon fibre, or even better, MDF. | minerve
21/5/2018 23:16 | getting, Would you like a signed photo of my wallet? The photo will be framed and edged in genuine leather. | meanwhile
21/5/2018 23:00 | Living forever means you will eventually revert to the mean and end-up like Brexit or gettingrich. Best die beforehand, eh? | minerve
21/5/2018 22:24 | MEANWHILE - "but I would suggest you invest on the assumption that you will live forever." Haha, yes I will, just need that start up pharmaceutical company to create the 'everlasting life' pill haha. | losos
21/5/2018 21:46 | There hasn't been for a while Meanwhile! Although strangely enough, before the GKN bid, you used to post some interesting points. How about you give us one of your 'calculations'? That might stir some interest, especially if you forget to include something vital. | gettingrichslow
21/5/2018 20:51 | Good evening Minerve, if you're there. Now that everyone's filtered almost everyone else, Losos, who nobody has filtered (no reason to), has become the 'human linchpin' of the board, holding it all together. He sees everyone and everyone sees him. And a good choice in my opinion. Brexit and goingdownhill seem to be still in touch, since they post around 8 minutes apart. I think that Yertiz may also be involved, being used as their spy, just in case we post something useful or sensible. Well there'll be nothing of that sort coming from me, I can tell you. | meanwhile
21/5/2018 13:07 | JP Morgan reiterates 260p Capital Group Companies takes 5.1% stake in Melrose Capital Group is an American financial services company. It ranks among the world’s oldest and largest investment management organizations, with $1.7 trillion in assets under management. Founded in Los Angeles, California in 1931, it is privately held and has offices around the globe in the Americas, Asia, Australia and Europe. | brexitplus
21/5/2018 12:03 | With someone like him around I think there is a very high chance his wife will bury him in the garden sometime soon. :) | minerve
21/5/2018 12:00 | And an excellent plan that is losos, but I would suggest you invest on the assumption that you will live forever. | meanwhile
21/5/2018 11:46 | B+ - "Introducing Losos, Gettos, Brexos and Yertagnan - The Melrose Musketeers. Our motto is “Upwards and upwards.” Thanks, haha had me laughing, can't stay long 'cos the garden, dogs, and a few small projects in the workshop are calling. Is it today that any GKN shareholders who have not accepted the offer get taken out compulsorily (Is that a word ? haha) MRO share price on the rise so I had better do my 'top up' pdq haha. I don't get involved in long term crystal ball gazing, Mayers point about the market 'turning' against MRO may have some precedent but I might well have 'snuffed it' in five years so it's of little significance to me haha. Just watch the share price on a regular basis and make decisions accordingly, that's my plan haha. | losos
21/5/2018 09:56 | Yertiz and Getting Agree with you both. ManU are nothing like the sides of the past. Then it was whatever the opposition score we’ll score more. And with British players!!! Could do without Mourinho. Exeter played really well by all accounts. And only 4 of last year’s team playing. Gloucester just can’t close out matches and keep losing in the last couple of minutes. When I first came to Gloucestershire they were all Gloucester boys except three foreigners, one from Stroud, one from Cheltenham and John Orwin from Yorkshire who was in the RAF and stationed nearby!!! And yes, share price on the up and hopefully good news about Ergotron soon. | brexitplus
21/5/2018 09:36 | Yertiz, couldn't agree more and it isn't just a nostalgia thing, my nephews weren't interested in the Cup Final and spent the afternoon playing FIFA on their XBox instead!! I heard three different words used to describe Jose Mourinho yesterday - odious, poisonous and classless - he is wrecking Man Utd's legacy B+!! | gettingrichslow
21/5/2018 09:25 | All the sounds of the earth are like music Oh the sounds of the earth are like music The breeze is so busy, it don't miss a tree An' a ol' weepin' willer is laughin' at me Oh, what a beautiful mornin' Oh, what a beautiful day I've got a beautiful feelin' Everything's goin' my way | meanwhile
21/5/2018 09:20 | After an excellent weekend, today is off to a flier too. Divi payout, GKN delisted and MRO on the up and up. Exeter Chiefs through to the Aviva Premiership final - Newcastle were lambs to the slaughter apparently. But not so good for you, Brexit+? I have no real interest in Premiership football, so the FA Cup, which had so much appeal and intrigue for me 40 - 50 years ago, has lost its gloss. Not helped when Man U decided they were above the competition and withdrew, and Sky started pumping billions into the game, pricing it out of the working man's pocket and to the detriment of the National team. Perverse, I think. | yertiz
21/5/2018 08:04 | GKN delisted. | brexitplus
21/5/2018 08:02 | I’d like to have shares in the electric E Type Jaguar at the Royal Wedding. How many rich foreigners will want one. Relaunch possible??? | brexitplus

20/5/2018 17:04 | Yertiz Disappointing couple of weeks sportwise - two finals, two losses - Gloucester and ManU. Still, had a great day in beautiful Bristol today. Dividends tomorrow, reinvested of course. | brexitplus
20/5/2018 09:47 | mayers, 2 good arguments there, mayers. It reminds me of Hanson's final years; Tomkins was another example, where the market turned against them. Even if the GKN restructure does go well and the market generally holds up, the returns over the 5 years or so required can't match usual Melrose levels, and could be quite mediocre. These 4 are indeed 'diehard cronies' but I prefer the term 'crones'. | meanwhile
19/5/2018 23:20 | MEANWHILE Sorry to hear you are no longer the rugged, dissenting voice, if I understand you correctly. It is not going to be so easy for MRO with GKN, not least because of the size of the job, but because if I am right, we are near the peak economically and much of its success has been in an extended bull market: I have the feeling too that the mood of the market may be against it, somehow perceiving its activity as greed at a personal level. I am not quite certain how this arises at a market level but I think it exists, not that it is likely to influence the 4 diehard "cronies" or encourage me to re-engage on other grounds. Best wishes. | mayers
19/5/2018 20:42 | Not quite, mayers. I'm not 'at it still'. The 4 'old crones' have finally made me see the light. | meanwhile
19/5/2018 20:13 | Looked in after an interval I see you are all at it still. Today's events just help to hide the appalling Windrush affair, so we can all feel more comfortable again. | mayers
19/5/2018 16:53 | Absolutely right! DFC | dav1dc2
19/5/2018 13:41 | Dav At least three. Brilliant event. It’s great to see so many people happy. A ManU Win will make the day completely wonderful. | brexitplus
19/5/2018 11:18 | Brexitplus Three cheers today ! | dav1dc2 |
