getting, aren't those Melrose bonuses grossly excessive?

Getting to know you, Getting to know all about you
Getting to like you, Getting to hope you like me
Getting to know you, Putting it my way, but nicely
You are precisely, My cup of tea

Haven't you noticed,
Suddenly I'm bright and breezy?
Because of all the beautiful and new
Things I'm learning about you

Another day, another moan about Directors' bonuses from Ryelodge aka Meanwhile. But still he holds, while simultaneously accusing others of being 'parasitic leeches' for holding!

helm1 says -
"The trouble with the future is that we don't get to see it till it happens."

Helm1, if you can see it when it happens you're way ahead of most on this board.
They see it several years later.

I hope MRO can maintain this current up trend, it helps me with the disappointment I have had with my Rolls Royce shares.

Thank you for the helpful comments. I have been holding MRO for some time, so still trying to get up to speed with the impact of owning GKN. fwiw I believe the current GKN offerings are "leading edge", and they will certainly be selling a lot more of them over the next few years. What concerns me is the direction the technology will take looking further out - there are so many scenarios where electronic controls can replace mechanical devices. The trouble with the future is that we don't get to see it till it happens.

Don't waste your time Meanwhile - the Navy only recruit sound people, you are a little unhinged.

Oh, how amusing, yertiz.

I am pleased to be able to inform you that I have decided to leave the 'cotton wool world' which I have inhabited these past years and join the Royal Navy.
I will keep you informed of progress.

That’s all the excitement and scintillating posts from Porky and Sheepy I can cope with this morning. Off out to have lots of fun, and a good lunch.

Hope Porky will confirm the picture is what he is thinking of as the future when he takes time off from exterminating Conservatives and Brexit voters - not mutually inclusive.

B+: Like it, like it, haha. Belt driven, with DRS and quite possibly KERS, I see.
Lightweight, streamlined, aesthetically pleasing to the eye and spacious - Porky could be on to a winner here, except the idea isn't his, it's Mr Robinson's.

Note for stmartin, my sincere apologies, it seems you are neither of the site trolls and actually have a sound opinion and intellect that they do not. Unfiltered and welcome!

If you need just a light meal, why not go for a McDonalds Happy Meal; they're not just for children and you can get a coffee as your choice of drink with it instead of a soda-pop.
And there's the toy, of course.
"Inside our latest Happy Meal®, your kids can find one of fourteen toys inspired by the characters from The LEGO® Movie 2, each with fun activity inside."

The Melrose Director bonuses would buy a Happy Meal for everybody in the UK., but don't doubt it, they earned it.
So in summary, the Melrose bosses expended sufficient work, effort, application of knowledge, expertise, experience to justify being granted enough bonus money to buy every person in the country a McDonalds Happy Meal.

There's something not right here.

I believe Minerva 2 was referring to the plutocrats and media moguls. Do you really believe the general public can think for themselves without tabloids brainwashing them?

Getting, stmartin, Yertiz

Based on Porky’s design criteria so far I have posted an illustration of how the vehicle would look on my profile page. I have also taken the liberty of including the in vehicle entertainment system.

Today's disposals are said to raise around £200 Million. This will cover last years director bonuses and leave a little bit over to be kept as a contribution to the next bonus round.
These disposals will free up overall management time, providing more opportunity to hype the share price to an unrealistic level around the time of the next bonus calculation.

Getting,

re levitation I was only joking, but with all the extra weight on the wheels Porky is suggesting, and the huge amount of battery power available to drive all his components, perhaps with his electronics and engineering genius he can devise a levitation unit fitted centrally to the body to reduce the stress on the wheels and optimise tyre wear.

Just a suggestion. Pity Heath Robinson died in 1944. He would devise one in a few minutes!!!!

Yertiz and Getting

Although this looks like a very generous offer from Porky, I refer you to his post yesterday referring to Conservative voters

“Those that keep these fools and charlatans in power should be executed”

So it’s not just us, but millions of other U.K. voters.

Reference Yertiz, getting and brexitplus:

Okay, I know this is an emotional moment for all of us, okay? I know that. But let's not make snap judgments, please. This is clearly... clearly an important species we're dealing with and I don't think that you or I, or *anybody*, has the right to arbitrarily exterminate them.
