20/1/2016 09:52 | Well we should get an update soon as MML always puts out their quarterly report at the end of the following month - so likely to be the 29th January. The 1H16 financials are usually at the end of February - so not too long to wait now. | ![]() chipperfrd
20/1/2016 09:30 | Below link to interview with a CEO who actually backs his company by doing something odd, like buying shares in the company who pays his salary I wish Medusa had a CEO with a fraction of the principles and openness as Keith Neumeyer of First Majestic. I See the shambles that call themselves Directors still are not buying any MML shares, and together with the lack of news I fear the worst. | ![]() bluelynx
19/1/2016 21:19 | There are reports on the internet of a shipping freeze. Someone called NYK lines, a major international shipping firm, and was told “we cannot speak for the whole world but, as far as our company is concerned, with current shipping prices we will lose money every time we send a ship so we have stopped.” Chinese government sources said in a newsletter shipping companies are now demanding to be paid in Chinese yuan and not dollars and that is a major reason for the freeze in shipping worldwide. If this continues, it will lead to empty super-market shelves and social unrest, especially in the US. The announcement last week by Walmart that it is closing 269 stores is just the beginning. | ![]() stevea171

19/1/2016 16:35 | Does anyone have any reasoning to why gold stocks are currently being smashed while Gold is only down a fraction, the HUI is currently down 6.5 to about 100. Quite amazing really who the hell is Shorting or panicking selliing at these new lows for gold stocks. Beats me totally. | ![]() bluelynx

17/1/2016 21:02 | I did print a set of numbers for SBM here in the last couple of weeks. Their debt on 20/6/15 was A$390m. Net cash was -A$322.9m. I remember them from their T/O of Allied Gold. They are still operating Simberi - but it has always had very patchy grades and must be pretty marginal at current PoG. Onlt 29.9koz @ 1g/t over 1H15. Their other project from Allied Gold was Gold Ridge in the Solomon Islands which was extremely risky because of tribal ownership issues - it has subsequently closed! So they are back to relying on Gwalia and King of the Hills as their core assets. I calculated the group AISC at A$1,166/oz over 1H15 and cash costs at A$943/oz. Like Steve, I totally avoid it.
