23/7/2019 11:40 | It all depends on McColl's profits for the full year. I would much prefer a smaller dividend to continue to pay down debts. I was surprised the Interim came in at 1.3p, as I was looking for between 0.6p and 1.0p The 0.6p for last years Final dividend may have just been to bring the full year dividend down to 4.0p and it is therefore reasonable to assume that McColl's wish to keep this years full dividend at 4.0p. This would mean, anybody who bought in at say 50p, will be gaining a 8% yield. | loganair
23/7/2019 11:29 | loganair 23 Jul '19 - 09:16 - 904 of 906 With the Interim dividend being 1.3p, suggests to me that the Final dividend will come in at around 1.6p. MCLS traditionally pay 1:2. Revenue is only marginally seasonal but the fixed cost base exagqgerates that lower down the numbers tables. Earnings are usually lower than 1:2 but operating cashflow can be be nearer 1:3 and this is reflected in the dividend. The dividend is therefore likely to be around 1.3p and 2.6p, which ties in well with forecasts of 4.0p. | aleman
23/7/2019 10:41 | Average size of 41 stores closed 1,000sq ft with weekly sales of £10,000. Average size of 3 new stores opened 1,700sq ft with weekly sales of £25,000. Morrison Daily trial stores all opened in the North West. | loganair
23/7/2019 09:33 | Maybe of interest to some - The latest Kantar figures show that Aldi/Lidl have increased their market share by 0.3% over the past month to give them a combined market share of 13.9%. Aldi/Lidl are opening up around 40 supermarkets per month. It seems to me just another 6 to 9 months and Aldi/Lidl will have around the same market share as Asda and with in a little over a year will over take Sainsburys. | loganair
23/7/2019 09:16 | With the Interim dividend being 1.3p, suggests to me that the Final dividend will come in at around 1.6p. | loganair
23/7/2019 09:11 | I reckon there are at least a further 100 newsagents will be closed over the next 3 years. This will still leave McColl's with around 200 newsagents. The newsagents I know are very small and around 40% more expensive for many of the items they sell compared to even the Co-op and therefore have hardly any customers. | loganair
23/7/2019 09:03 | Seems very much in line with forecasts. Will look better when we get the store closures done. £1.9m spent on that in the last 6 months - more than last year. Then they can concentrate on looking forward instead of looking back. | aleman
23/7/2019 08:58 | Good to see debt being reduced, however being reduced by selling off freehold shops, selling off their assets to take them back as lease hold. Pleased to see McColl's continuing closing newsagents and smaller stores and replacing the smaller stores with larger ones thereby being better able to sell a larger range of products. All-in-all it seems to me the half-year results are alright. | loganair
23/7/2019 08:06 | Disappointing reaction, with MCLS starting to seem out of the woods now, & the majority of the MRW benefits still to come. | spectoacc
23/7/2019 07:34 | Good solid progress being made, and great to see debt being paid down at this rate | lukehold
22/7/2019 23:08 | To continue to pay down debt, I'm happy for a 0.6p Interim dividend and when the time comes a 1.0p Final dividend. | loganair
22/7/2019 22:54 | The same as the Final dividend you're thinking. | loganair
22/7/2019 22:49 | They might keep it at 0.6p? | ashton01
22/7/2019 22:43 | I also wonder what Interim dividend they'll be putting forward? | loganair
22/7/2019 22:25 | Return to 100m mcap tomorrow morning if results are inline with expectations | lukehold
22/7/2019 21:10 | I hope that McColl's lift there forecast full year profits by 10% will do me and have continued to close newsagents at a similar rate of around 50 per year. | loganair
22/7/2019 20:56 | Any thoughts on tomorrow's price? | ashton01
22/7/2019 20:16 | Mainly buys today and shorts closing for results tomorrow... | lukehold
17/7/2019 10:19 | Half Year Results on Tuesday 23rd. Expecting a quick rerate here back up to £1 and then in to £1.5 on the back on any good news on the Morrison's trials. £2.50+ within 2 years of not snapped up before then. | lukehold
08/7/2019 09:52 | Interims are two weeks tomorrow. | aleman
26/6/2019 08:31 | If it makes a higher low the chart looks very good. | hpcg
