25/11/2022 10:35 | Tern holders, to a man, are completely ignorant or plain NAIVE, to say Sisto does not increase SHAREHOLDER VALUE. SISTO most certainly DOES INCREASE SHAREHOLDER VALUE. SISTO increases shareholder value in every Investee, the only share that SISTO neglects is, TERN. But there can be no denying, SISTO DELIVERS and gets plaudits from the Investee shareholders, as do ALL TERN BOARD OF DIRECTORS. ALL DO A GREAT JOB FOR INVESTEES. FINANCIAL BURDEN AND ALL RISKS TAKEN BY TERN HOLDERS, INVESTEES HAVE NO FINANCIAL WORRIES | steveberyl
24/11/2022 22:15 | By the time McColl's went bust, they owed Morrison's circa £90mln because basically none of Morrison or Safeway groceries in store had been paid for. In other words Morrison were letting McColl's have these groceries on tick. I do not blame McColl's management as when IPO in 2014 some 80% of their stores were Newsagents with many of the rest being Arkwright corner shops. By the time McColl's went bust circa 75% of their Newsagents had been either closed or sold, Head Office had been sold for over £7mln which was way over book value and was costing over £1mln just to run the building and grounds and moved into a new HQ which was costing circa £70k to run. I also think McColl's were correct to buy the Coop stores which were on average 40% bigger then the average McColl's store at the time. It seems to me where McColl's went wrong was to borrow to buy the Coop stores instead of paying for the whole lot through a Rights Issue. If this had been done then McColl's would basically have been debt free. | loganair
24/11/2022 17:03 | The directors are to blame you're right, but Morrisons caused continued supply chain disruption via the Safeway brand. Including this they let shareholders pay for the refits knowing the sorry state of affairs. Smart but wrong. | a_2_b
24/11/2022 14:34 | They helped cause the company to be run into the ground in the recent years. They played this very dirty. They didn't even keep the staff which was one of the promises. | a_2_b

01/11/2022 17:35 | Mirror: Morrisons to shut 132 'loss-making' McColl's stores - putting 1,300 jobs at risk Morrisons confirmed it would purchase the failing convenience store chain in May this year, as part of a £190million rescue deal - but it has now unveiled plans to shut 132 stores unquote There is a full list of which stores and a great deal of detail in the article. | polar fox
