18/2/2019 07:46 | Pre-tax profits include £6 million of property profits. Debt has come down principally because of the change in payment terms allowing them to delay paying creditors. The only good news is the fact there is no especially bad news. Sadly MCLS is swimming against the tide and despite their best efforts there isn't any growth here for shareholders. | danny baker
18/2/2019 07:32 | I'd disagree they are badThey are pretty much as expected after the trading update and after the supply disruption last year they have performed admirably.Debt down a significant amount and starting this year well.Dividend lower which was always going to happen.Net cash higher than the market cap.P/e of 7-8.2019 expected to improve and grow. | supercity
18/2/2019 07:31 | "McColl's Retail Group PLC (MCLS.LN) said Monday that profit and like-for-like sales and declined in 2018 but that it has returned to growth in the first quarter of this year. The U.K. convenience-store chain said annual like-for-like sales fell 1.4%, although sales were flat in the fourth quarter. Revenue rose 8.1% to 1.24 billion pounds ($1.60 billion) due to acquisitions. Pretax profit fell to GBP7.9 million from GBP18.4 million the prior year after McColl's was hit by supply-chain disruption. Adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization fell to GBP35 million from GBP44 million, in line with previous guidance. McColl's said like-for-like sales were up 1.2% in the first quarter to date and that it continues to expect a modest improvement in adjusted Ebitda for 2019. The retailer proposed a final dividend of 0.6 pence a share, bringing its total dividend for 2018 to 4.0 pence a share. " | spectoacc
18/2/2019 07:26 | Insurance works when few policy holders make a claim, but when it is a national change in trend, the insurers will need to adjust premiums. It is the same with car thefts, this is on a rise, and I believe insurers have miscalculated the risk with keyless theft. Police station closures is over half way through the programme of scheduled closures. We are seeing only the start of the effects. | stampylong trader
18/2/2019 07:10 | @stampylong - insurance? Results look...bad, but not as bad as expected? Particularly the improving trend. Divi cut, no great surprise. Still expanding, net debt down. | spectoacc
18/2/2019 06:51 | Small shops are being ram raided and burgled weekly, this is a bear point for me. Crime is rising right now and with the police stations closing and cutbacks, light sentencing, this trend is here for a while. 15/2/2019 11:13 | This was 250p on last years results.Guidance on this years (out Monday) surely doesn't warrant the current low level.Dropped on small volume in the past few weeks so it doesn't look like insiders are selling out.Could be a retail bargain...not long to find out | supercity

08/2/2019 20:09 | Across the board and was posted by several poster on this BB when McColl's came out with their trading statment at the beginning of December. Reduction in the full year dividend from 10.3p to around 8p is being forecasted. | loganair
08/2/2019 20:00 | Stockopedia still forecasting a full dividend next year with a yield of 20%. Can't see it myself. Which analyst has forecast a 25% cut, loganair? | lord gnome
08/2/2019 19:20 | Analysts forecast 25% reduction in profit compared to last year and say there will be a corresponding 25% reduction in the dividend. | loganair

08/2/2019 18:18 | I upped my stake today. Hoping they drop the dividend by half and get some improvement on LFL's. It's on a PE of 6 and they have paid down debt to 100m which is still way to high but they have made a dent. | totalgeek69
08/2/2019 17:44 | Well, you're braver than me. I wish you good luck. :-) I'm going to wait for the results, then decide whether the price warrants a punt. | ed 123
