It is obviously a shame about the result from a shareholder perspective.I had a very small (long) trade and so I have lost out myself. That is to be balanced against a 74% profit I made on a previous (long) trade in the same stock, however.It was certainly a riskier stock to trade than most (in either direction), but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't have traded it, as some mistakenly seem to be arguing, rather it just means that the exposure needed to be strictly managed, commensurate with the risk.To anyone who has lost a serious sum of money on this news, I totally feel your pain. Anyone trading for any decent length of time has had at least one very painful, frustrating loss and so knows how you feel. Anyone who hasn't I am sorry to say unfortunately doesn't yet know what will hit them when that painful, frustrating loss finally comes about.It sounds like a pretty decent result for employees, so I'm glad about that (certainly more important than the small loss I have taken on my side).Thanks to JakNife and others for the strong technical analysis. Insolvency law is very interesting and this has been a good refresher and education.To those PTSL at others' losses - that's a strange and graceless thing to do. If the result has proven you right then fair play to you, well done for having had that foresight! If people laughed at you before, a claim I have seen, then they were proven wrong. The record being proven in your favour IS your reward, no laughter needed. Respect yourselves with some magnanimity in victory.

When one door closes another opens.

The chart and story reminds me of previous retail disasters (for share holders), namely, Woolworths, Debenhams, Game and HMV as mentioned before. I think I can add Carpetright? Been there done that, got the T-Shirt. Been an avid reader of all those bulletin boards.

If you are into reading charts, I recommend picking up a book written by Stan
Weinstein - How to profit from bull and bear markets for £15.

On a 3 year chart, this was a Stage 4 bearish pattern.

I haven't seen many retailer success stories over the years - Woolworths, Debenhams, HMV, Game, and probably a few more that I care to remember. Perhaps someone should make a list.
