This is administration, not (yet at least) liquidation. In an (insolvent) liquidation, the shareholders by definition get nothing, because the assets are insufficient to cover the liabilities. But liquidation is only way that administration can end. There could instead be outside investment. Outside investment itself can take many forms (eg lending fresh capital; guaranteeing liabilities; buying out the company, etc.). Surely at least in the very last example (buying out the company) the shareholders (as the selling owners) will get something? And surely also the sale would only go through if accepted by a given proportion [the majority?] of the shareholders, perhaps pursuant to a Scheme of Arrangement? And surely also the price would have to be somewhat-reasonable under the circumstances in order for such given proportion to accept the sale? Or is the role ordinarily played by shareholders in such matters somehow diminished due to the fact that certain powers have been granted to administrators? Any insolvency lawyers out there care to offer some ideas...?

True, never seen something like that come back. Good thing is PIs we're just just gambling small amounts. Made some money with the volatility over the last few weeks but lost a little in the end by waiting.

Over and out. To be fair you were all warned and those trying to make a quick buck got severly burnt. Takeover by the brothers will not help the poor private investors, just liquidators and new buyers. Luckily I've learned from previous attempts not to chase the impossible. My heart goes out. Live and learn.

Look I think we should setup a gofundme page to help recoup some of the pocketmoney Global has lost today. He was easily led by the pumpers, and allowed himself to be greedy but failed to pull out at the right time.Mummy will be cross that he spent 3 weeks pocket money on here, instead of buying his Beano.

Oh dear.Global has lost his mind after I pointed out to him that today's news means he's likely lost EVERYTHING he gambled on here today after failing to be clever when following the pumpers.

If Morrison's let ASDA buy McColl's then this will be the second time in a row where they have failed when it comes to convenience stores.
